Enrichment offered!

Maatjes GGZ

Do you like to challenge yourself? To put yourself in someone else's world, even though it may be different from your own? We know many people who would like more social contact. Walking and joking together!

De Hartekampgroep

Theo is a cheerful aging man of 71 years. He has an intellectual disability. He likes to be well and neatly dressed. Theo can only say mama and he doesn't use any other words. He does understand a lot of spoken language when the message is short and clear. Theo makes himself clear by pointing out objects and persons. Theo can move himself with a walker. He can't walk very long distances, but a short block with occasional intervals is fine for him. He also loves to sit for a while and look around. Theo likes a daily structure, so it is important that the volunteer comes at the same day and time every week. Do you come for a walk and chat with Theo once a week at a fixed time? You get a happy smile in return! RHK TK

Country/America fan looking for buddy!

De Hartekampgroep

My name is Michael (30+) and I love to socialize. I really enjoy being with something and being involved. I love Country music and dressing up. With my cool hat and jacket I feel completely 'the' man, even my tricycle is completely in the American style. I have been living in a residential group for a number of years and that takes a lot of getting used to for me. I used to live at my father's house. I miss home terribly and would like to talk about it. It's nice if you listen for a while and then we can focus on our activity together again. I would love to go to the activities offered here at my home location. And walking your dog together also seems fun. And a trip to the beach or Keukenhof, for example, is also very nice. Actually, I'm into a lot of things. As long as there aren't really loud noises. I have free time in the evenings and weekends and would like to meet with you. An hour of activity is fine for me. If we really go on an outing, we will of course be on the road a little longer. EHL53 MP

Will you become a public transport coach or cycling buddy?

MEE ZHN

We operate throughout The Hague, Rijswijk, Maassluis, Vlaardingen, Katwijk, Alphen aan den Rijn, Hillegom, Lisse, Teylingen and Midden-Delfland. Do you know how to travel by public transport and how to cycle somewhere? And would you like to help others so that they can do this too? MEE on the road is looking for public transport coaches and cycling buddies! We teach everyone from the age of 12, with a disability, to travel independently. For example: how to go to school, to an internship or to work. Are you interested, but do you have a preference for age or mode of transport? We make matches based on your preference as a volunteer. The coordinator is always available for advice, to spar or to think along with you! A training always consists of about 8 to 10 training moments. A training moment, for example, is the journey to school. There is a training session once a week. So you do have time to build a bond with the person who helps you learn to travel. What do you get in return? • you help someone with their self-reliance and independence • you change someone's life forever • you get to know really nice new people; • it makes you happy, it gives you energy; • you learn things that you may be able to use later; • travel expenses, if you incur them, will be reimbursed And it's just fun and rewarding work! Are you interested, but would you like to know more first? Please contact us without obligation. We also have opportunities to do an internship or gain work experience.

Help with swimming lessons wanted!

De Hartekampgroep

We are a group of children and live at the Hartekamp location in Heemstede. We all have an intellectual disability. Unfortunately we don't have a swimming diploma and we really enjoy having swimming lessons. We are taught in the Klimop, a swimming pool that is also located at the Hartekamp location. Supervisors are going into the water and we are looking for volunteers who want to help us during the lesson. Because we can't swim, we get 1 on 1 guidance in the water. With extra hands we may be able to work towards a swimming diploma. We swim the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 17:00 - 18:00. Are you coming with us?
