Home-Start volunteers offer support and practical help on a friendly basis to families with children aged 0-14 in Alkmaar, Heiloo, Castricum, Bergen, Uitgeest, Langedijk and Heerhugowaard who temporarily need a helping hand. You will visit a family at home every week. What do we offer you? An extensive introductory training that will prepare you well. Meaningful work with a lot of appreciation and flexibility. Your own experience with raising children can be very valuable to other families who need temporary support. What is Home-Start? Home-Start volunteers offer support and practical help on a friendly basis to families with children aged 0-14 in Alkmaar, Heiloo, Langedijk, Heerhugowaard, Castricum and Uitgeest who need temporary support. What does Home-Start do? Through Home-Start, you will visit a family as a volunteer for a half day every week for a year. You are a listening ear, source of information and confidant. Your presence takes the pressure off. What does Home-Start mean? Many families who register experience little support from their network and find it very valuable when someone comes to visit them. Together, you can also look at how your own network can be strengthened. The family's question is leading in this. The goal is to grow the self-confidence and resilience of family members so that support can be reduced after about a year. What does Home-Start offer? Being a volunteer at Home-Start is social, rewarding and responsible work. At Humanitas we believe in the power of connection and the support of a simple phone call. Thanks to our Telephone Circle in the municipality of Alkmaar, people who are alone and have little or no daily contact still have a moment of the day when they speak to someone. This ensures that they feel seen and increases their sense of security. The Telephone Circle would not be possible without the loyal and valuable efforts of our volunteers. Every day a circle is started by a leader, a volunteer from Humanitas. These volunteers alternate and lead a circle every few weeks. We are currently urgently looking for new volunteers who want to fulfill this wonderful task with us. Would you like to lead one or more telephone circles every now and then for a week and contribute to the well-being of others? Home-Start is a Humanitas project aimed at families who need temporary support. Our volunteers offer families support with education, practical help and a listening ear. De Hoofdzaak

Claudia has an anxiety disorder and does not dare to travel by bus, which means she cannot visit her sister. An expert from De Hoofdzaak visits once a week. She can tell her story to the expert. The expert explains how he managed to recover. This gives Claudia hope and courage to take steps in her recovery. Gradually, Claudia manages to feel her strength and motivation, and her fears become less of an obstacle. Claudia is so proud when she went out by bus for the first time and visited her sister. Does it make you feel good to see people grow? Do you think it is important that everyone can be themselves? Do you have experience with being psychologically vulnerable and would you like to use your experience to support others individually? What are you going to do If you have (had) a psychological vulnerability yourself, you know how disruptive this can be. As a recovery support worker, you understand well what people face and how lonely this can be. As an expert by experience, you will support someone with a psychological vulnerability in his or her recovery process. You have conversations with people who have contacted De Hoofdzaak because they would like to contact an expert by experience. The appointments can take place at people's homes, during a walk, in the community center or at our beautiful location. We can see together what you enjoy. How much time you put into it can be discussed, depending on your needs and availability. Some volunteers have an appointment once a week, some volunteers have multiple appointments a week. Just what suits your agenda. In the beginning you work together with an experienced volunteer. If you are ready, you can sometimes go out together, but possibly also alone. Stichting Humblebees is a young organization that is committed to children, young people and young adults with a disability and their families. We do this by organizing fully catered weekend stays at Center Parcs in Zandvoort 45 times a year with the most adventurous and diverse activities. We are looking for spontaneous, enthusiastic and fun people who want to guide the participants in their daily routine and of course during one of our many excursions and activities. The weekends take place at Zandvoort from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening and are fully catered. Accommodation, food, drinks, participation in all activities and travel expenses are included. As a volunteer, you will be managed by the coordinating supervisor of the weekend and you will work closely with interns and other volunteers to make it a great weekend for everyone! Are you excited? De Hoofdzaak

Eight participants start a recovery course together. They want to turn their psychological vulnerability into their strength. Can you help them with that? You believe in the power of sharing experiences. Based on our course material, you and a colleague will discuss with the participants about vulnerability, but especially about self-management and recovery. You get satisfaction from the participants learning more about themselves and discovering their strengths. Together you will make it a valuable experience. What are you going to do? Before you start teaching them yourself, you will take some courses. This way you get a good sense of what the courses mean for the participants. And in this way you develop your experience. As a course supervisor, you work together with an experienced course supervisor. You start with the basic course 'View of recovery'. Do you have a handle on him? You can also teach other courses at your pace. The course material is aimed at getting people thinking about the concepts of 'self-management' and 'recovery'. You also share your experiences. We always receive good feedback from participants on the courses! The courses consist of six to eight meetings, one half day per week. We make the planning in consultation with you. At De Hoofdzaak, volunteers have a lot of space to put ideas into practice. All our groups were created on the initiative of committed volunteers. They know what helped in their recovery. Our volunteers use this experience and knowledge when starting new groups and supervising the groups. And there are already many interesting and fun groups! Just look here! Do you have an idea for a discussion group? Or are you more creative, sporty, musical, theater maker or good with photography? We would like to discuss with you what you can do for others at De Hoofdzaak with your talent. What are you going to do It is a good idea to first participate in our recovery courses and courses to develop your experience. This provides a lot of guidance in conversations with participants about self-management and recovery. It helps you to leave the responsibility for recovery with the other person, and above all to be a good listener. You can further develop your idea for a new group in conversation with a coordinator. What does the group entail, how often does the group meet and when, where does the group take place, how many people can participate, who will you guide the group with and do you need materials?
