New training starts! Enthusiastic volunteers wanted with parenting experience for Home-Start

Weekly · 1 to 3 hours
Humanitas Noord-Kennemerland

Your own experience with raising children can be very valuable to other families who need temporary support. What is Home-Start? Home-Start volunteers offer support and practical help on a friendly basis to families with children aged 0-14 in Alkmaar, Heiloo, Langedijk, Heerhugowaard, Castricum and Uitgeest who need temporary support. What does Home-Start do? Through Home-Start, you will visit a family as a volunteer for a half day every week for a year. You are a listening ear, source of information and confidant. Your presence takes the pressure off. What does Home-Start mean? Many families who register experience little support from their network and find it very valuable when someone comes to visit them. Together, you can also look at how your own network can be strengthened. The family's question is leading in this. The goal is to grow the self-confidence and resilience of family members so that support can be reduced after about a year. What does Home-Start offer? Being a volunteer at Home-Start is social, rewarding and responsible work. In addition to appreciation, you will receive support in the form of preparatory training, intervision, theme meetings and professional guidance. Do you have parenting experience, are you a good listener, are you interested in others and would you like to help a family (again) on their way? Then sign up! If you have any questions or are thinking about signing up, please contact the Humanitas Noord-Kennemerland office on tel. [phone number hidden] Do you have parenting experience, are you a good listener, are you interested in others and would you like to help a family (again) on their way? The volunteer training of 6 meetings will start at the beginning of the new year.

Humanitas Noord-Kennemerland

Do you want to support a family of non-Dutch origin with children in primary school? How does the school work? What is expected of me as a parent? What is a 10-minute call? What can I ask the teacher? For example, you help with reading newsletters and a report. You can also talk to parents about what they can do at home in the field of educational support activities. Think of talking about school together, playing games or making music. It is so grateful to be there for a family that temporarily needs extra support. Humanitas Schoolwijs offers support, practical help and a listening ear to parents with primary school children. You visit a family every week, 20 times in total. What do we offer you? Meaningful work with a lot of appreciation and flexibility. An introductory training, (themed) meetings and individual support. A learning environment in which you strengthen your qualities and gain experience with coaching conversation techniques. Introduction to other cultures. Travel allowance. Volunteer Jolanda: “It is nice to pass on my own experiences as a parent with primary school to the families. I get a lot of satisfaction and energy in return. I feel very supported by the organization.” Would you like an exploratory conversation to discover what the possibilities are in your situation? At Humanitas we believe in the power of connection and the support of a simple phone call. Thanks to our Telephone Circle in the municipality of Alkmaar, people who are alone and have little or no daily contact still have a moment of the day when they speak to someone. This ensures that they feel seen and increases their sense of security. The Telephone Circle would not be possible without the loyal and valuable efforts of our volunteers. Every day a circle is started by a leader, a volunteer from Humanitas. These volunteers alternate and lead a circle every few weeks. We are currently urgently looking for new volunteers who want to fulfill this wonderful task with us. Would you like to lead one or more telephone circles every now and then for a week and contribute to the well-being of others? Then register and become an indispensable link in the chain of connection and support. Together we make the difference!

De Hoofdzaak

Claudia has an anxiety disorder and does not dare to travel by bus, which means she cannot visit her sister. An expert from De Hoofdzaak visits once a week. She can tell her story to the expert. The expert explains how he managed to recover. This gives Claudia hope and courage to take steps in her recovery. Gradually, Claudia manages to feel her strength and motivation, and her fears become less of an obstacle. Claudia is so proud when she went out by bus for the first time and visited her sister. Does it make you feel good to see people grow? Do you think it is important that everyone can be themselves? Do you have experience with being psychologically vulnerable and would you like to use your experience to support others individually? And are you looking for volunteer work where you can grow personally? Then come and volunteer in the TED team (Team Experiential Expertise Close) at De Hoofdzaak in Noord-Kennemerland! You have conversations with people who have contacted De Hoofdzaak because they would like to contact an expert by experience. The appointments can take place at people's homes, during a walk, in the community center or at our beautiful location. We can see together what you enjoy. How much time you put into it can be discussed, depending on your needs and availability. Some volunteers have an appointment once a week, some volunteers have multiple appointments a week. Just what suits your agenda. In the beginning you work together with an experienced volunteer. If you are ready, you can sometimes go out together, but possibly also alone. Everything in consultation, of course. For this fun and valuable position, we are looking for someone who is willing to take our free experiential courses, unless you have already been trained. As an expert by experience, you can empathize with others and you are able to use your own experience. You can be vulnerable and you see this as strength. Course supervisors with experience

Weekly · 2 to 12 hours
De Hoofdzaak

Eight participants start a recovery course together. They want to turn their psychological vulnerability into their strength. Can you help them with that? You believe in the power of sharing experiences. Based on our course material, you and a colleague will discuss with the participants about vulnerability, but especially about self-management and recovery. You get satisfaction from the participants learning more about themselves and discovering their strengths. Together you will make it a valuable experience. What are you going to do? Before you start teaching them yourself, you will take some courses. This way you get a good sense of what the courses mean for the participants. And in this way you develop your experience. As a course supervisor, you work together with an experienced course supervisor. You start with the basic course 'View of recovery'. Do you have a handle on him? You can also teach other courses at your pace. The course material is aimed at getting people thinking about the concepts of 'self-management' and 'recovery'. You also share your experiences. We always receive good feedback from participants on the courses! The courses consist of six to eight meetings, one half day per week. We make the planning in consultation with you. We work with groups of eight participants. Who are you? You have turned your vulnerability into your strength. You feel free to share your own experiences. You would like to gain experience in teaching courses (or you already bring that experience), and you would like to develop experiential expertise. You are an optimist, a true provider of hope, who enjoys working with others. What do you get in return? Do you want to develop into an expert by experience, and do you aspire to a paid position in the future? De Hoofdzaak is a great place to gain experience! You will be given the opportunity to participate in courses and thus be able to build your CV. You will receive compensation for your efforts and travel expenses will also be reimbursed. You work in a warm and enthusiastic team. And after every course you have a group of satisfied students who have taken steps in their personal growth. Would you like to talk to a course supervisor first to hear more about their experiences? Which can! If you are enthusiastic, you can also immediately contact a team coordinator in your region. De Hoofdzaak

At De Hoofdzaak, volunteers have a lot of space to put ideas into practice. All our groups were created on the initiative of committed volunteers. They know what helped in their recovery. Our volunteers use this experience and knowledge when starting new groups and supervising the groups. And there are already many interesting and fun groups! Just look here! Do you have an idea for a discussion group? Or are you more creative, sporty, musical, theater maker or good with photography? We would like to discuss with you what you can do for others at De Hoofdzaak with your talent. What are you going to do It is a good idea to first participate in our recovery courses and courses to develop your experience. This provides a lot of guidance in conversations with participants about self-management and recovery. It helps you to leave the responsibility for recovery with the other person, and above all to be a good listener. You can further develop your idea for a new group in conversation with a coordinator. What does the group entail, how often does the group meet and when, where does the group take place, how many people can participate, who will you guide the group with and do you need materials? Our coordinators will help you connect the dots and cross the i's and really get the group off the ground. You never guide groups alone. It is nice, safe and educational to do this together with someone else. You prepare the group together, and afterwards you ensure a tidy space. You do some simple registrations about the meetings. As a volunteer you participate in meetings, such as team meetings or intervision. In addition to being fun, this is also good for your development as an expert. What do you get in return You take part in great courses to develop your experience. There are also various in-depth courses you can take. All that costs nothing. You will receive a volunteer allowance for your efforts and travel expenses will also be reimbursed. Volunteering at De Hoofdzaak is meaningful work, you help others to feel heard, seen and understood. You will be part of a great team. And you can fall back on our coordinators with your questions.
