Home-Start; light (parenting) support

Would you like to make a family with young children happy with your weekly visits? We support families with young children who are having a hard time, by linking the family to a volunteer. After extensive preparatory training and conversations, the volunteer visits the family once a week for a few hours and offers support that the family asks for, so that the mother/father feels better about herself. The support can be anything, but the main thing is that the volunteer establishes a relationship of trust with the mother/father. As a volunteer you will receive great support from us; both individually and in groups. We offer thorough training, plus reimbursement of expenses. We regularly hear from our volunteers that they get a lot of satisfaction from the work, not only the family is happy, but the volunteer himself too! We require an average commitment of 2 to 4 hours per week (sometimes once every two weeks) and the capacity to be there for someone and to really listen to the other person. A positive and active attitude to life and the ability to give compliments are important qualities. Being able to name the things that do go well (because they are always there!) and of course enjoy working with children. We cook a hot meal for the children every day in our kitchen. The children like to play in a clean environment, we keep all areas clean for them. The aim is for non-native speakers to overcome any hesitation they may have, increase their vocabulary and receive help with sentence structure. The Hillegersberg-Schiebroek Belbus is run by volunteers, that is: people who selflessly do something for others in their spare time. More than seventy volunteers take Belbus customers to every address within the Hillegersberg-Schiebroek-Terbregge-Laag/Zestienhoven area five days a week. You too can work as a volunteer at Belbus! You are welcome as a driver, supervisor or office employee. • Driver Naturally, you have a B or BE driving license. To start with, you will spend a few weeks as a supervisor on one of the buses. You must have excellent street knowledge of Hillegersberg and Schiebroek. You must pass the driving style analysis. In addition, it is important that you are patient, both with customers and in traffic. • Accompanist You must be in good shape, because you often have to get on and off the bus, to ring the bell and to help customers get on and off. You tell the driver where he/she has to go and keep track of the journeys on a journey list. Now she is in 4 Havo and can use some extra support again. She is looking for an online TOMaatje who wants to help her successfully complete high school. Do you want to help someone realize her potential?
