Hiking and cooking volunteers Deurne

De Zorgboog

For our small-scale homes located in the St Jozef parish in Deurne, we are looking for walking volunteers and cooking volunteers. Within small-scale living, a maximum of 8 residents live per apartment. In addition to aging, our residents have additional problems such as dementia and are often less mobile or wheelchair dependent. The feeling of being at home is of paramount importance in every home. As a volunteer you make a major contribution to the living happiness of our residents. You are able to turn an ordinary day into a special day, a day with a smile. • Every Tuesday morning there is a walking activity. Together with other volunteers and the activity supervisor, residents walk to the Hofke van Marijke to drink coffee together. Start at 10.30 am and around 12.00 pm they are back at the homes for a meal. Do you like walking and would you like to take a walk together with the walking club of the houses of St Jozefparochie? If you manage to push a wheelchair during the walk, we are looking for you! • We are also looking for enthusiastic cooking volunteers within the homes. Do you like to cook and would you like to cook a meal for one of the houses, please contact us! We will then look further with you at the options that you have yourself and what the possibilities are of one of the homes. Days and times are negotiable. A place free in your heart?

Home-Start Helmond

Our volunteers provide support to families in Helmond who need temporary support. The support often consists of having a chat and offering a listening ear, talking about parenting, playing games with children, reading aloud, and sometimes helping with homework. Also go out together and discover the neighborhood. Always question-oriented and do and think based on the family's possibilities. All our volunteers receive training in advance, and we try to match the family's needs as best as possible with the wishes and capabilities of the volunteer. Volunteers who do not yet fully understand the Dutch language, but who speak Turkish, Moroccan or Polish, for example, are also of great added value! So do you still have a place in your heart to support another family? Then we would be happy to schedule an introduction. Greetings, Evelyn, Tanja & Saskia (home-Start Helmond coordinators)

Go on a forest adventure with Roy and his assistance dog

Kempenhaeghe

How nice it is when someone comes especially for you and listens to you, chats with you or takes you for a walk. Or if someone does fun things with you. This is not self-evident and very valuable for many residents of Kempenhaeghe. It makes their day special. Do you also want to make a difference as a volunteer? Then become a buddy! Today we are speaking from Roy, who is looking for a buddy. “I am 24 years old and live independently with supervision on Emmastraat in Asten. I have epilepsy and receive support from my epilepsy assistance dog Ruby. I am a cheerful young man who likes a joke from time to time. His favorite times are especially Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon or evening. Every now and then Roy also stays in Asten at the weekend. Then Monday morning, afternoon, Saturday or Sunday would also suit you! The age of the volunteer does not matter. It would be great if you could walk every week, but every other week is also very nice for Roy and Ruby. Would you like to go out with Roy and Ruby? Please contact us! Please feel free to contact our recruitment team, Paul (Recruitment) Carlijn (Coordinator Voluntary Deployment Kempenhaeghe) You are very welcome! Our residents are central, but we believe it is important that volunteers enjoy working at times that suit them. The frequency of contact can therefore be determined in consultation. * We request a VOG (Certificate of Good Conduct) from volunteers at the start of volunteer work

I'm looking for a buddy parent

LEV Deurne

Raising children is quite a job. It is nice for all parents not to have to do this alone. But not everyone gets a helping hand when he or she needs it. As a parent(s), you may experience temporary or long-term difficulties while raising your child. This can have several causes. You can be ill, you can be overloaded, you can have limited social contacts and/or be single. Make an appointment with the #buddyparent coordinator to get acquainted and hear what options are available, so that we can look to make a suitable match. Do you also have such a question? Post your own request for help. Of course we can also help you with this.
