Do you make a parent Schoolwise?

Do you want to support a family of non-Dutch origin with children in primary school? How does the school work? What is expected of me as a parent? What is a 10-minute call? What can I ask the teacher? For example, you help with reading newsletters and a report. You can also talk to parents about what they can do at home in the field of educational support activities. Think of talking about school together, playing games or making music. It is so grateful to be there for a family that temporarily needs extra support. Humanitas Schoolwijs offers support, practical help and a listening ear to parents with primary school children. You visit a family every week, 20 times in total. What do we offer you? Meaningful work with a lot of appreciation and flexibility. An introductory training, (themed) meetings and individual support. A learning environment in which you strengthen your qualities and gain experience with coaching conversation techniques. Introduction to other cultures. Travel allowance. Volunteer Jolanda: “It is nice to pass on my own experiences as a parent with primary school to the families. I get a lot of satisfaction and energy in return. I feel very supported by the organization.” Would you like an exploratory conversation to discover what the possibilities are in your situation? Do not hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to tell you more about it.

Are you a mother or grandmother yourself? Do you have the time and desire to share your knowledge and experience? Then become a volunteer at Home-Start for support during and after pregnancy As a volunteer, you will support expectant mothers and fathers with a balanced pregnancy and upbringing, so that the future child can grow up healthy and in a stable environment. This often concerns parents with a migration background who have not lived in the Netherlands for very long. Parents therefore do not always speak Dutch well. What are you going to do? The child's first thousand days begin with pregnancy. As a volunteer you will be linked to the family. You discuss with the coordinator what the family needs most. This usually involves transferring knowledge (how maternity care works in the Netherlands), supporting practical matters (such as going to the clinic, etc.) and education. What do we offer you? • An extensive introductory training that prepares you well. • Meaningful work with a lot of appreciation and flexibility • Individual guidance • Access to a range of training and workshops for volunteers • A learning environment in which your qualities are strengthened • Where you gain experience with coaching conversation techniques • Introduction to other cultures • Travel allowance Do you have experience with young children? Home-Start is a Humanitas project aimed at families who need temporary support. Our volunteers offer families support with parenting, practical help and a listening ear. The Home-Start volunteers visit families with children aged 0-14 every week (for a maximum of one year). The families indicate themselves where they could use support. More and more families with a refugee background are referred to Home-Start. Guiding these parent(s) to municipal facilities, supporting them with parenting and school issues, and helping them better understand the Dutch language and culture are common questions. Do you want to offer these newcomers a helping hand and make them feel at home? Let us know and we will find a match! In addition to the Home-Start training, volunteers receive ongoing support from an experienced coordinator. There is plenty of room to develop yourself and gain experience with coaching conversation techniques. Meaningful work with a lot of appreciation. Travel expenses are reimbursed. Volunteer Astrid: “I learn something from every family and get a lot of satisfaction and energy in return. I also work in a fantastic team of volunteers and coordinators.” Would you like an exploratory conversation to discover what the possibilities are in your situation? Stichting Z11-Jongerencoaching
Do you have your life reasonably well organized and do you want to do something in your free time that really matters? Z11-Jongerencoaching guides and supports young people from the Noord-Kennemerland region through individual coaching. We do this with the help of specially trained unpaid coaches. A coaching trajectory is free of charge for the young people we guide. We are continuously looking for enthusiastic, motivated people who can have the necessary 'people skills' and have an affinity with the target group. Experience is a plus, but not a requirement - all our coaches receive thorough training. Guiding young people is wonderful work, and it is always very satisfying to be able to help these young people. All our coaches will agree: "you get so much in return!". This beautiful work does require commitment and dedication: it is voluntary but certainly not without obligation. It is important that you can really listen and that you can put yourself in the shoes of the young people you are going to guide. Understanding and empathy are crucial. The young person is always central to Z11 Youth Coaching. We coach motivated young people who are open to coaching. Some people register with us themselves, others are registered by their parents, supervisors or professional referrers. We coach young people on request, but not on behalf of others. This approach allows the young people to keep control and they can count on our complete discretion. This is the only way we can work together on the basis of mutual trust. As a Z11 coach, you help young people who find it difficult to give direction to their lives or who simply need some feedback from a sensible, independent outsider who may have more life experience. This age group often lacks self-confidence and therefore does not have sufficient faith in their own abilities. This is where you as a coach can make the difference. By applying proven coaching techniques but also by sharing your own experiences with the young people, they can always take the next step under your guidance. Gradually, they will start to believe in themselves more and more and the latent ability to do it on their own strength will grow. ✪ Your duties: ✓ Coaching young people aged 10 to 21. ✪ How much time will it take if you become a coach at Z11? ✓ You will have a coaching conversation with the young person you are coaching for one to one and a half hours per week. This process with a young person is completed after approximately one year. ✓ We hold intervision meetings for our coaches on average 4 times a year. ✓ Every year, the foundation organizes various specialized workshops, seminars and/or training courses for its coaches to stay up-to-date with the latest developments and to brush up on relevant topics. ✪ Both the intervision and the above-mentioned training courses usually take place in the evenings. ✪ In order to be allowed to work as a coach at Z11-Jongerencoaching, you must be able to present a valid and relevant VOG and you must follow a basic training course from Z11. This training is partly given in the form of e-learning and partly live on location in Alkmaar. After successfully completing the training, you will receive a certificate on behalf of the Z11-Jongerencoaching Foundation. ✓ You will then be part of our great, well-motivated Z11 team and you can be paired with a young person, whereby careful consideration is given to the best possible match between the young person and the coach. Are you enthusiastic? Then register at Z11-Jongerencoaching (dot nl) with a short motivation and description of who you are and what you have done so far. You can of course also attach your CV! We would love to hear from you! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Shahed (17) would like to complete HAVO. Will you help her with Dutch? Thanks to the help of another homeschooling buddy, Shahed was able to complete her VMBO with good grades. Now she is in 4 Havo and can use some extra support again. She is looking for an online TOMaatje who wants to help her successfully complete high school. Do you want to help someone realize her potential? We are looking for a volunteer for Shahed who: - Want to teach online once a week. - Has a good command of the Dutch language. - Is not afraid of the upper secondary school material to ensure that you can make good agreements. In consultation, you agree on a time during the week when you can provide online support. After that, it's time to have fun contact with each other and, above all, do a lot of homework together. How do we support you? You will receive guidance from TOMaatjes at the start, with tips for lesson content and access to the community with other TOMaatjes in it. Every 1-2 months there is an online intervision with lectures from professionals or you can discuss in groups how you can get more out of the tutoring. What do I need for it? - Be open to another culture. - Before you can start, we will request a Certificate of Good Conduct for you free of charge. Once it has arrived, you can start as soon as possible. - Want to help with everything that is covered in the upper years of HAVO. Being a homeschooling buddy is truly a very rewarding task. It starts with tutoring, but many of our volunteers really build a bond with the family where they work. Shahed's previous TOMaatje wrote this about her: "Until last summer holidays, I (as TOMaatje) guided a Syrian girl for 3 years, during which she transitioned from framework to theoretical, with the end result being a T-diploma with an average above 7. A wonderful result that gives me great satisfaction. left, and she can still fall back on me. My reward was her facial expression and that of her parents when I unexpectedly appeared at the graduation ceremony." We hope to welcome you soon if TOMaatje for Shahed or one of the many other children could use help.
