Pieter is looking for a mentor!

Pieter is looking for a mentor! Pieter is a man who lives in a care institution. His mother recently passed away and Pieter now has no parents. His only sister lives abroad. Pieter no longer gets visitors and he no longer goes to drink coffee with a large piece of apple pie on a terrace, which he likes so much. Now Pieter has to go to the dentist and the supervisors of the care institution with the question: who gives permission for treatment under anesthesia. Pieter himself cannot give permission, because he does not understand what is being asked of him. In the past, Pieter's mother was called and she signed a declaration of consent. Peter needs a mentor! Someone who regularly visits Pieter, gets to know him and knows what he likes. But also someone who can make decisions in the field of care and well-being (treatment, nursing, care and guidance, so not about money matters), which Pieter cannot make himself because he does not understand them and cannot oversee the consequences of his decisions. Mentorship Southeast Brabant is looking for volunteers who want to become a mentor for people like Pieter. These volunteers receive basic training so that they can do their job well-rested. In addition, there are regular meetings with other mentors where questions that arise with mentors are discussed, where in-depth knowledge is provided. There is also always support from one of the foundation. Mentorship is a task laid down in law. The time it takes from the mentor depends on the client and his situation. But on average it takes 2 to 3 hours every two weeks. One time a visit is enough and the next time you go to the hospital for a treatment and it takes an afternoon. Does the above appeal to you and you can find yourself in the following profile a mentor is a volunteer who… ...can communicate well ...is initiative …is skilled in decisions and actions …cooperates well …independent and with integrity …can set boundaries ... can critically examine one's own behavior please feel free to contact Mentorship Southeast Brabant [website hidden]

VACANCY MENTOR(S) in the De Kempen region volunteer work 6 to 8 hours per month What if you have the opportunity to improve and/or guarantee the quality of life of someone else? That, thanks to you, a client is heard and seen, that you make a difference in their lives? And then you also decide your own working hours?! Stichting Mentorschap Zuidoost Brabant is looking for mentors in the Eindhoven region and specifically in the De Kempen and Helmond region. What is a mentorship? 1. Trust: Advisor and confidant, a beacon in a rapidly changing healthcare offering. 2. Protect: Mentoring is a way to protect someone who cannot make good decisions about his or her care. 3. Intervene: let the client decide as much as possible, but intervene where necessary. Importance of mentorship: • Fixed contact/person • Personally and socially involved • Being a sounding board and offering peace and balance. The mentor takes care of the client and discusses with the client whether he or she receives good care, nursing, treatment and guidance. Healthcare professionals are usually the first to pick up signals that indicate the need for additional support for the client. Mentorship is an important link in the care process. How does mentorship work in practice? • The mentor visits the client at least once every 2 weeks; • Builds a bond with the client. Gains his or her confidence and knows what the client wants; • Has a good working relationship with healthcare; • Contact the administrator to see what is financially possible; • If there is family, contact is also made with them, among other things to obtain more background on the client; • Checks whether the care is appropriate for the client; • In the case of a competent client, the mentor coordinates this with the client; • If the client is unable to do this, the mentor will ask questions to the healthcare provider; • Is the legal representative in plan and goal discussions such as in an MDO and its approval; • Monitor that the client receives care according to the care plan; • The mentor offers the client peace and security; • The mentor offers a different perspective on healthcare; • The mentor is a sparring partner without emotional interest. What do we ask of our volunteer mentors: As a volunteer, you want to support others by representing the interests of the client with personal attention and professional quality. For that you need: • Being a good listener; • Have empathy; • Take action where necessary; • Have good speaking and writing skills; • Be reliable towards your client and healthcare professionals and keep agreements; • And of course be discreet. And don't shy away from it: • It is not without obligation, but that you have a responsibility to represent your client's interests in the field of healthcare and welfare • A role with plenty of room to act at your own discretion within the boundaries of the tasks and responsibilities of 'good mentorship'. • A commitment for several years • A role is where you are a pivot in a network to connect with, among others, healthcare, administrator and family • It requires a time commitment of visiting the client at least once every 2 weeks • You participate in training courses, theme days and SamenSparren • You are computer literate and it is an advantage if you are familiar with social media • You ensure good reporting in the digital file. You also prepare an annual report for accountability to the court Mentorship provides valuable support throughout the care process. It creates a partnership that not only puts the interests of the client first, but also relieves healthcare professionals. In short; Being a mentor is a very versatile position in which you have a lot of freedom and can determine your own working hours. How do you become a mentor? • You can become a mentor by registering as a volunteer with the foundation. • You will be invited for an introductory meeting with our manager Patrick Vermeeren. Here you can also indicate what you do and do not want to do. • After the introductory meeting, we ask the candidate mentor to follow the mentorship training course in which you will learn all the ins and outs. • After proven suitability, we introduce the candidate mentor to a client for whom mentorship has been requested. • After an introduction and mutual consent, the application is submitted to the subdistrict court judge. • If the court decides to establish mentorship, you will become the legal representative/mentor on behalf of Stichting Mentorschap Zuidoost Brabant. • No prior training is necessary! The most important thing is that you can identify with the profile of our mentors. It is an advantage if you are familiar with healthcare, a former healthcare professional, (ex) informal caregiver or retired with the motivation to make a difference. Fees and costs Compensation is available for all mentors. This will be further explained in the introductory meeting. Clients pay a fee for mentoring, which consists of a one-off initial fee and annual costs. These rates have been determined by the judiciary. Declaration of Good Conduct (VOG) All volunteers at the foundation must be able to provide a declaration of conduct. Benefits: • Stichting Mentorschap Zuidoost Brabant facilitates the annual theme day 'Day of the Mentor'. During this meeting you will meet your colleagues and workshops will be organised. • You participate in an intervision group 'SamenSparren' in which you discuss cases and share experiences with your colleagues (at least once per quarter). • You will receive our quarterly newsletter in which we inform you about changes in the law, regulations, tips and advice, etc. • Naturally, our regional manager and support staff are always available as a sounding board for everything you encounter in practice as a mentor. Interested and motivated? We prefer to have an immediate, no-obligation conversation. Please contact our regional manager Patrick. Mentorship Foundation South East Brabant

P is a 16 year old boy and lives with his parents, brother, sister and a dog in Eindhoven The family has been through a very difficult time in recent years, but fortunately things have calmed down within the family again. P is going to school and is in his senior year. Next year he wants to take a course so that he can later work in healthcare. P's hobbies are; playing volleyball, cooking, listening to music, and sometimes just doing nothing. P is looking for a buddy with whom he can do fun activities and with whom he can tell his story. He would also like to learn to set his limits and increase his self-image. He doesn't have much confidence in himself yet and doesn't always look at himself positively. P is looking for a buddy between the ages of 20 and 35 who has a sense of humor, enjoys chatting, can take initiative, can ask good and sometimes difficult questions and has a positive outlook on life. Will you become P's buddy or one of our 30 other waiting young people? Unfortunately, our waiting list of waiting boys is getting longer due to a shortage of young, male volunteers within the age category of 20 to 35 years. Are you our rock? What exactly does Youth Support do? Humanitas supports young people to feel better and gain more control over their lives. As a volunteer you are an important factor in really helping young people. Not only for now, but also for the future. At Youth Support you become the buddy of a young person between the ages of 12 and 25. De Kindertelefoon

Do you have a genuine interest in the world of children? And do you want to do something that really matters? Help out at De Kindertelefoon in Tilburg! 📞BEING ABLE & ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT EVERYTHING De Kindertelefoon is the place in the Netherlands where children can talk in confidence about subjects that they cannot, dare or do not want to discuss in their own environment. Every day from 11:00 to 21:00 they can call and chat for free and anonymously about everything that concerns them. For example, about parents who are getting divorced, feelings of insecurity, being in love or a home situation that is not pleasant. As a volunteer, you offer children a listening ear. You help to increase their (self) insight, so that children learn to trust their own strength. And sometimes you provide information or guide them to specialist knowledge and help. 📍PRACTICAL: TILBURG & FLEXIBLE PLANNING For our "call room" in Tilburg we are looking for volunteers who can work one shift per week of an average of 3 hours. You plan your shifts flexibly yourself and then choose a shift of 2, 3 or 4 hours. Whatever suits you best that week. ✨SOMETHING FOR YOU? Working as a volunteer at De Kindertelefoon suits you if you: ... can put yourself in someone else's shoes, have strong communication skills and dare to ask for help. ... can quickly switch between completely different conversations: one moment you are chatting with a child about an unsafe home situation, the next moment a child calls who is nervous about his or her speech. ... really seeks contact with a child. And if a child calls with a joke, you can laugh about it and go along with it. And sometimes you discover that there is another question or story behind it. ...are capable of (self)reflection and are open to receiving and giving feedback. ...are open-minded, curious, reliable and involved. ARE YOU ENTHUSIASTIC? That's great! Then we can tell you a lot more. For example, about what De Kindertelefoon asks of you, what you can expect from the training and how you can register. Respond to this call, then you will receive more information from us.

Over Rood

Short description: Are you that entrepreneur who wants to spend some free time supporting entrepreneurs who have financial worries or problems? Can you make a difference for these entrepreneurs and help them get out of a negative spiral? Are you empathetic and involved? Then you are the one Over Rood is looking for. Register as a trajectory manager! Register as a trajectory manager at Over Rood (volunteer work) Do you make a difference for entrepreneurs who are struggling with financial problems? These entrepreneurs are worried about the future and sometimes consider quitting as self-employed. They (often too late) find their way in the confusing world of aid, but do not find the solution to an existence with sufficient financial security. Do you want to help them by being an equal discussion partner, who thinks along with them and can guide them towards a financially healthy future? What will you do as a volunteer? You guide entrepreneurs in going through a support trajectory via Over Rood. The objective of each trajectory is that the client can start working on solving their problems themselves and working towards a financially healthy future. However, no trajectory is the same. Sometimes the request for help is purely financial-administrative, while other entrepreneurs need support in the area of business operations. You share your knowledge and experience with your client and help them to get structure and overview in their business operations. You help with difficult choices. You are a sparring partner and offer a listening ear. You get entrepreneurs out of a negative spiral and help them pick up the thread again. On average, you guide 5 to 10 clients per year, with a time investment of approximately 4 hours per week. What do you get out of it? In addition to the appreciation of clients and satisfaction in your work, you have the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the Dutch economy and a healthy business climate with your knowledge and experience. You meet socially committed colleagues who, just like you, use their knowledge, experience and strength to really make a difference for our clients. You have an independent position, in which you can determine your own hours and you can count on expert and professional support from the Over Rood organization. You will receive a solid and educational internal training and a (generous) expense allowance. Who is Over Rood? Over Rood is a national volunteer organization that has been helping entrepreneurs to regain an overview and insight into their finances for over 10 years. Every year, more than 6,000 entrepreneurs are successfully helped. Over Rood has 20 branches spread across the country, which are led by branch managers. More than 200 volunteers now use their experience and knowledge to help colleagues selflessly. Not by taking over the problems, but by coaching and working together, with the aim of ensuring that the entrepreneur can work on a debt-free future on his own. Empathetic, unbiased and accessible are core values of Over Rood. Over Rood is growing rapidly. More and more entrepreneurs are calling on the organization or are referred by the municipality and other authorities. This requires more manpower. Do you recognize yourself in the profile of a trajectory manager at Over Rood? • You have knowledge and extensive experience as an independent entrepreneur, director, operational manager or business manager. Experience with debt problems is a plus. • You like to share your knowledge and experience and find it a challenge to get people into their own power. • You have knowledge of and experience with managing/coaching/leading (groups of) people. • You are empathetic and can empathize with the problems, the mental situation and the living conditions of the client, without becoming emotionally involved. You have understanding and patience and adapt to the pace of the client. • You have HBO/university work and thinking level and master the Dutch language in speech and writing. Register as a volunteer at Over Rood by sending a message. We will then be happy to contact you.
