Cycling together on a duo bicycle

Langeveldshof

Do you enjoy cycling with someone and visiting beautiful places in the Bulb Region together? We are looking for a volunteer who will cycle with one of our friendly participants on a duo bike on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. Langeveldshof uses a beautifully adapted duo bike for this purpose, which has an electric auxiliary motor for support. As a cycling buddy at Langeveldshof you will enjoy cycling in the area with a participant. This is something that the participant can no longer do independently due to his or her disability. So you provide a beautiful experience and really add something to the daily existence of someone with a condition or disability. You naturally start with thorough instructions before you set off.

Will you become a public transport coach or cycling buddy?

MEE ZHN

We operate throughout The Hague, Rijswijk, Maassluis, Vlaardingen, Katwijk, Alphen aan den Rijn, Hillegom, Lisse, Teylingen and Midden-Delfland. Do you know how to travel by public transport and how to cycle somewhere? And would you like to help others so that they can do this too? MEE on the road is looking for public transport coaches and cycling buddies! We teach everyone from the age of 12, with a disability, to travel independently. For example: how to go to school, to an internship or to work. Are you interested, but do you have a preference for age or mode of transport? We make matches based on your preference as a volunteer. The coordinator is always available for advice, to spar or to think along with you! A training always consists of about 8 to 10 training moments. A training moment, for example, is the journey to school. There is a training session once a week. So you do have time to build a bond with the person who helps you learn to travel. What do you get in return? • you help someone with their self-reliance and independence • you change someone's life forever • you get to know really nice new people; • it makes you happy, it gives you energy; • you learn things that you may be able to use later; • travel expenses, if you incur them, will be reimbursed And it's just fun and rewarding work! Are you interested, but would you like to know more first? Please contact us without obligation. We also have opportunities to do an internship or gain work experience.

There are many types of loss and every loss involves a grieving process. All kinds of feelings and emotions can play a role in this and everyone processes loss in his/her own way. As a volunteer... You support the participant 1-2 hours a week at his/her home in processing the loss. You are above all a listening ear and invite the participant to come up with solutions. Are you one of our new volunteers? • Preference is given to volunteers with personal experience in the field of loss and grief; • The volunteer is expected to have a self-critical attitude; • He/she is open to coaching during regularly scheduled meetings and will contact the coordinator if necessary; • The volunteer keeps an eye on the objective of 'support during loss and grief' and, despite sympathizing, also knows how to keep his distance; • The volunteer knows his limits and identifies underlying problems in a timely manner and seeks any necessary support from professional care providers. What do you get in return? • A training • Guidance from a coordinator (someone you can always rely on) • Return meetings to share experiences and gain new ideas • Travel and expense allowance Have we aroused your interest?
