Looking for a walking or cycling buddy!
Do you like to go hiking or cycling? And are you sociable? Maybe it's something for you to go on walking and / or cycling trips with one of our participants and offer him or her a listening ear or pleasant distraction during this activity. What are you going to do? We link you to one permanent participant. The link takes place on the basis of common wishes and interests. You form a buddy couple for a year. You meet on a bi-weekly basis. As a volunteer you provide distraction and a bit of fun, in this case by making walking and / or cycling trips. Our participants Our participants are people who feel lonely because they experience a psychological vulnerability and do not dare to mingle independently in a social environment. As a volunteer you break through his or her loneliness. It is important that you are prepared to enter into contact 'openly', without wanting to change your buddy. Method The project leader maintains contact with you as a volunteer. Newsletters keep you informed. Buddy couples must adhere to the rules of the RIVM. Both the volunteer and the participant must feel comfortable with these rules. Working hours During the day or in the evening, during the week or at the weekend: everything is possible. When and where you meet, you always decide in mutual consultation with your buddy. Intake procedure Feel free to contact us for an introductory meeting with the project leader. If you definitively register as a volunteer, you will meet with a participant. After this meeting you can indicate whether you want to become a buddy couple together. Yes = start contact. No = new conversation with another buddy. Are you interested? Would you like to offer someone (living in your area) some social distraction and do something with him or her? Please leave a message with your name and phone number. I would like to meet you by phone. This is of course entirely without obligation and for orientation. Best regards, Chantal Roads Buddy project
