Bibliotheek Helmond-Peel

Samen Digi-TAAL' is a collaborative project between Helmond-Peel Library and LEVgroep, in which we make children digitally and linguistically stronger together with their parents. What are you going to do? As a Samen Digi-TAAL volunteer you will: • working with families, you focus on both parents and children • encouraging language and digital skills • work with the help of a tablet and language games • visiting the family at home and participating in group meetings at primary schools/community centres Time investment/when? You commit to the project for a period of approximately 16 weeks. How often you make home visits depends on what the family needs. We assume at least 4 home visits during the process. The home visits can be scheduled flexibly together with the family. A home visit takes an average of 1 hour, with the emphasis on guiding parent and child in using the tablet and apps on it. There are 4 to 5 group meetings for volunteers and families. This discusses how you can stimulate children's language development, how the tablet can be used and media literacy and the library are discussed. These will be planned again after the summer holidays, dates will follow as soon as possible. Of course we would like to see all volunteers participate in all group meetings, but if this is not possible, we will be happy to update you at a later time or send you the information by email. What do we offer you? • the opportunity to develop in language and digital areas • the opportunity to make a difference for a family with your contribution and make an impact by reducing literacy • flexibility in commitment that suits your agenda As a volunteer you will receive a short instruction in advance about the basic use of the tablet and language activities. You will be supported by a coordinator from LEVHelmond. What do we ask of you? Interest in other cultures, involvement, flexibility and patience. You can work independently and have an affinity with the target group. A good command of the Dutch language and you can use an iPad well. Have you become enthusiastic after reading this vacancy? Or do you have any questions? We'd love to hear from you.

Home-Start Helmond

The volunteers of Humanitas Home-Start offer support to families in Helmond who temporarily need a helping hand. The support often consists of having a chat and offering a listening ear, talking about raising children, playing games with children, reading aloud, sometimes helping with homework. Also going out together, exploring the neighbourhood. Always demand-driven and doing and thinking based on the possibilities of the family. All our volunteers receive training in advance, and we try to match the family's demand as well as possible with the wishes and possibilities of the volunteer. Volunteers who do not yet fully master the Dutch language, but for example speak Turkish, Moroccan or Polish are also of great added value! So do you still have a place in your heart to support another family? Then we would like to plan an introduction. Greetings, Evelyn, Tanja & Saskia (coordinators Home-Start Helmond)

MEE De Meent Groep

I would like to introduce you to 81-year-old Marja, a sweet, quiet, single woman from Helmond. She has been living there happily for 42 years on the 4th floor near a shopping centre. Unfortunately, Marja has become less mobile. This means that she does not leave her apartment much and therefore does not meet other people. Marja is therefore very lonely. Marja has tried to join a meeting group in recent years, but because she is hard of hearing, it is very difficult for her to follow conversations. Marja is a very nice conversationalist, 1 on 1 and without too much background noise. She has a wide range of interests and also has a great sense of humour. Marja would really like to get in touch with someone who would like to visit her once a week/2 weeks and have a nice chat and drink coffee. Marja would also like to take a short walk together. It would be great if she met someone who would take her to the city. Would you like to get to know Marja and break her loneliness? Then respond to this call from MEE de Meentgroep.

Making dreams come true for a child with trauma

Project · 20 to 30 hours in total
Dream4Kids

As a dream guide, you organize a unique Dream Day, always together with another dream guide (possibly from your own network). You are responsible for the organization and implementation of the Dream Day, of course with the support of a dream coordinator from Dream4Kids. You give a child with trauma a gift for life! What are you going to do? You talk to the child to find out what his/her most beautiful dream is. With this input you create the script for the Dream Day. You will realize this special day within 6 to 8 weeks and you will also collect financial resources and sponsorship for this. Dream4Kids will help you with this, including a digital collection box and you will receive a starting amount. Afterwards, with the help of a copywriter, you will create the dream report with photos and put together a photo book as a reminder of this unique day. Who are you? As a dream guide, you are at least 21 years old, you have your driver's license (+ access to a car) and you have a good portion of creativity and organizational talent. You are aware that you are dealing with a vulnerable group of children. Do you want to help make dreams come true? Then send a message.

De Zorgboog

De Coppel day care, located within the doors of the Keyserinnedael location in Helmond, is a day care center for people with a non-congenital brain injury. The visitors of the Coppel still live independently at home and come to the Coppel during the day for a meaningful day. All visitors have an acquired brain injury, some in combination with a form of dementia or are physically limited. Currently, the age varies between 65-75 years. De Coppel is run by permanent professionals and they receive help from a permanent volunteer. Together they receive the guests in the morning, drink coffee together and then organize an activity. Then lunch is served and there is a moment of rest for the visitors. In the afternoon there is room for being creative, here we really look at custom work, where are the interests and needs of the visitors. In between there is of course delicious coffee or tea and there is plenty of room for a chat. Cosiness and the homely atmosphere are of paramount importance! De Coppel is open daily from 9.45 am to 4.15 pm. The Coppel is closed on Thursdays. How nice it would be if more help came from several volunteers! Due to the arrival of more volunteers, there is of course more possibilities within the range of activities. Would you like to get involved, provide an activity such as playing a game, think of rummikub or memory games, take a walk or a ride with the side-by-side tandem, help with lunch or set up a baking activity, or you are very creative. You are very welcome! Patience is a virtue at daycare de Coppel, empathy, being able to push a wheelchair and maintaining peace are also very important. If you have good ideas of your own, we'd love to hear them! We are excited, are you?? Their involvement contributes to the well-being of the recovering patient. They can add something to the short-term stay of the convalescent in all kinds of areas. As a volunteer in this department, you must radiate calmness, approach clients in a soft voice and be able to deal with and empathize with the clients' behavior. This can be understood behavior but also misunderstood behavior such as dealing with mood swings and/or verbal or physical aggression. Our clients have a great need for safety, which we offer by standing close to them, radiating warmth and tranquility and showing empathy. Cooking volunteers: We are looking for a cooking volunteer for these group homes, who can cook a fresh meal at least once a week for a group of up to 20 clients. Cooking takes place in the house itself. It is appreciated if you can involve the clients in the preparations and let them contribute in their own way so that they are actively involved. This is also beneficial to their rehabilitation process. The menu is put together in consultation with you and the groceries are taken care of. It is basically a main course. The meal is prepared in the communal kitchen of the group homes. You start preparing the meal at 10:30 am. It's nice if you help with serving and cleaning up afterwards. Days are in consultation. In the evening we are also looking for a volunteer from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM who can help serve the meals and clean up afterwards. If you think being independent is important and you enjoy cooking, please contact us. This can also be done via the Zorgboog website. For small-scale living within the Regt in Beek en Donk, we are regularly looking for a visiting and walking buddy for one or more specific residents. When you start working as a visitor buddy, you visit the same residents every week to have a chat or a walk together, play a game or do something together. Are you patient, do you have empathy and do you have a good dose of persuasiveness? Then we are looking for you! You plan the time of the visit together, taking into account your own wishes and the resident's care needs. Do you like it and would you like to be a buddy? Please contact Zorgboog.
