We are currently looking for volunteers for a few half days per week who would like to go for a ride on the tandem bike with residents. On a predetermined day/time, you and one or more residents will go for a ride on the tandem bike on the grounds of St. Elisabeth or, if all goes well, outside. We are looking for volunteers at St. Elisabeth for various residential groups where residents with the diagnosis of Alzheimer's live. The work can consist of the following tasks: - breakfast support - making coffee/tea - playing games - picking up/reading (aloud) the newspaper - shopping in the shop in the house - going outside/walking Day/parts of days; - various residential groups - various days/parts of days/times (both morning and afternoon) - also a request from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM for a residential group Competencies; - affinity with the target group - calm person - polite - respectful - a clear voice when reading aloud - patient - available on one or more parts of the day as described above - able to provide a VOG

We are looking for a volunteer who can provide support for the singing hour every other week This involves fun sing-along songs The intention is that you pick up residents and bring them back to the residential groups afterwards. Help during the activity is also desirable, looking up good songs in the singing folders. Hostess in recovery department

Within St Elisabeth there is a department where residents can recover after an operation and there are a few rooms that are permanently occupied. This department consists of 17 apartments. We are looking for volunteers who can support our residents of the St Elisabeth residential care center with the weekly painting/drawing club from 05-02-2025. This mainly concerns residents of the Laantjes residential groups where residents with dementia live. The most important thing is that you are a very quiet type yourself and can help where necessary. Residents enjoy the peace and quiet that afternoon while painting or drawing. In addition, you help pick up/bring back the residents to the residential group(s) The painting/drawing club is active every Wednesday afternoon from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Volunteers are there from 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM. The NVA regional board Noord-Brabant/Zeeland strives for the largest possible safety net for people with autism and their environment. The province of Brabant now has 11 Autism Information Centres (AIC). The AIC offers information to people who are dealing with autism in various ways. The strength and uniqueness of the AIC lies in the peer contact supervised by experts by experience. AIC Roosendaal organises, among other things, peer contacts and theme mornings/evenings. The tasks of a coordinator include supervising and managing an enthusiastic team of volunteers and maintaining contact with the regional board. One of the spearheads at the West Brabant Library is tackling low literacy. 1 in 9 people (16-65 years old) in the Netherlands is low-literate. They cannot read, write or calculate sufficiently or do not have sufficient digital skills to participate in our society. For anyone who wants to get started with this, we offer various training courses, including language practice groups. Both for people with Dutch as their mother tongue (NT1) and for people with a different mother tongue (NT2). Together with another volunteer, you help the participants in these small-scale groups. You practice the Dutch language with them using practice material from the library, games, watching the news, reading newspapers and practicing conversations. By practicing, someone gains more self-confidence and becomes more familiar with society more quickly. In addition, it is sometimes chosen to practice digitally with each other remotely. This has proven to be very useful during the lockdowns in the past. Good basic skills give people freedom and opportunities. Together you practice the Dutch language in an accessible way.
