Child is looking for a nice host family
Do you want to make a difference for a child or young person (0 - 14 years) who needs a 'home in another home'? We are looking for host families who want to open their home and heart and give attention, time and space. You support parents by relieving them and offer the child/children a nice time. In this way you give the parent(s) a helping hand so that they can continue to care for their child themselves. What does a host family do? A host family offers the opportunity to let a child or young person participate in their daily family life. This concerns children who experience stress in the home situation, or are staying in an institution and miss a home. A host family can also offer support to a young refugee. This can be an afternoon a week, a weekend a month, a holiday week or another period. This depends on what the family wants to offer and what the child needs. As a host family of Kind aan Huis you are a kind of "aunt and uncle" or "grandma and grandpa" for the child. It concerns children from 0 to 14 years old from vulnerable families who do not have a network to rely on for this. You are there to: - offer the child space to be taken in - provide a listening ear - offer support based on your own parenting experience - have contact with the parent(s) on an equal level, based on equality and trust We work demand-driven, so the commitment can be different in every family. Humanitas Gorinchem requires: Parenting experience or at least experience with children, available at least 1 half day per week, good listening skills and a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) for you and your partner. Humanitas Gorinchem offers: Meaningful volunteer work, expense allowance, guidance and intervision, opportunities for personal growth. More information? Contact coordinator Emma.
