SOL (Samen Ondernemend Leren)
We support independent elderly people with individual guidance and/or day care. We receive these elderly people weekly at Het Geheugenpaleis in Schiedam and Maassluis and Het KrachThuis in Vlaardingen and Maassluis. Het Geheugenpaleis is for people who suffer from mild memory problems and/or early dementia who want to keep their brain active for as long as possible. We always start the day relaxed by drinking coffee or tea together, during which we share what keeps us busy. Then it is time for a healthy dose of exercise. Under the guidance of the vitality coach, we will exercise, make music (rhythms) and sing for an hour. A proven way to keep our brains active, and above all fun to do. After this effort, time for relaxation again. We have lunch together, a bread meal with soup or a hot meal. After lunch there is an opportunity to do whatever we feel like doing. Playing a game, being creative, memory training etc. The Geheugenpaleis is organised from Monday to Friday in Schiedam and is accessible to people with an indication Mids (participating in the city elderly), the KrachThuis is organised once a week on Tuesday in Vlaardingen and on Wednesday in Maassluis and is accessible. It is accessible to people with an indication Participating in the City (elderly) which is issued by ROG plus. All participants pay a small contribution for lunch, coffee/tea etc. The supervision is in the hands of the group leader/vitality coach and volunteers. In order to make these day activities possible, we are looking for volunteers for Het KrachThuis and Het Geheugenpaleis to supervise the group of participants during the day (or part of a day). What do we ask you to do? -Receive the participants, provide coffee and tea and talk to the participants. -Participate in and assist with exercise and music. -Getting groceries for lunch and sometimes cooking/preparing something tasty -Preparing lunch, having a nice lunch and then cleaning up afterwards. -Supervising activities in the afternoon, such as playing games, reading the newspaper together, being creative. -Working hours are from 9:30 to 15:00. (or part of it) Who are we looking for? Enthusiastic volunteers who have an affinity (and preferably experience) with our target group, who can contribute to a good, cheerful and confidential atmosphere. It is important that you have patience, can listen and interact well, are socially aware and helpful and can be present (preferably) weekly. Being able and willing to work in a team is also important. If you are only interested in certain parts (such as providing lunch or playing games/doing something creative), or are not available every week, you can also respond. What do we offer? -A fun day! -Volunteer work in which you contribute to the longer independent living at home and the well-being of the elderly. -A great team with enthusiastic colleagues and grateful participants. -A WA and accident insurance during the work. -Regular training that supports you to do your work well. For example in the dealing with our target group (trainings take place in Rotterdam) Special features We ask every volunteer for a VOG statement. (costs are reimbursed) A volunteer agreement is drawn up. Are you interested or would you like more information? Contact Natasja Lafeber (Vitality coach, volunteer coordinator MVS ) [phone number hidden] [email address hidden] You can always come and get acquainted without obligation. If it appears from the introduction that we can do more for each other, we will agree on a 'trial period' in which you will participate.

Stichting Thuisgekookt
Hello neighbors from Vlaardingen (Vogelbuurt Noord), Stichting Thuisgekookt connects neighbors with each other by means of a hot meal. This allows people in a vulnerable position to enjoy a freshly prepared meal from someone from the neighborhood. We are now looking for someone for a single, lonely man of 40 years old (he has two dogs) who likes to cook and/or eat together with him. He likes almost everything and occasionally also likes vegetarian. As a volunteer you will receive compensation for the cost price, an average meal costs between €3 and €6 (per portion). Due to the limited budget of this lady, we are looking for someone who wants/can cook for a maximum of 4 euros per portion. Are you or do you know someone who would like to cook and/or eat with him? We would like to hear from you in a response. Thanks in advance! Greetings, Paula from Team Thuisgekookt #23395

Green winter outing with your team: transplant trees

Green winter outing with your team: transplant trees

Stichting MEERGroen
Every year, dozens of companies also roll up their sleeves for a day between November and February to harvest or plant trees. Enjoy going outside with your team and getting to work in nature. You too can make an impact with your team! More Trees Now transplants underprivileged seedlings to promising places. Every tree produces hundreds of seedlings every year. Most of these do not survive, because they grow in places where they are not allowed or able to grow big. By carefully digging out these seedlings in the winter and giving them away, they grow into adult specimens elsewhere. A logical, cheap, sustainable and more fun way for more trees in the Netherlands! During the More Trees Now team outing, you will go out with a forester, ecologist and/or harvest supervisor. He or she knows exactly which trees you can harvest and transplant to a place where they have a better chance. There are also planting days where you and your team help a farmer or starting food forest plant the seedlings. Did you know that you can also organize a planting day for your own business park? Super fun and inspiring to green your own work environment with your colleagues! The Meer Bomen Nu campaign is active throughout the Netherlands, there are all kinds of local parties that are committed to this. In the Haarlemmermeer and Heemstede region, the MEERGroen Foundation is the driving force. We will get started in a park or forest area in this region, for example Spaarnwoude. PRACTICAL INFORMATION Group size: 10-30 people What do you get: an educational day (part) in nature under the expert guidance of a forest ranger or ecologist Location: we do our best to find a location near your office (30-45 minutes). Travel with your team as green as possible, think of public transport (bicycle) and carpooling. Optional: do you want to work with a larger group? Or do you also want a snack or a drink? That is possible! Consult with us for the possibilities Requirements: there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. Wear good clothes that can get dirty, and bring sturdy shoes/boots and work gloves! Do you have a spade or pruning shears? Bringing them is always a good idea.
