Everyone can join in by swapping tiles for greenery in their front, back, or facade gardens. That includes you! Let's work together to make the Netherlands a greener place. Surplus
Anything is possible! What suits you?? The Claverbladt department recently moved to a new location at the Elisabeth* location and has a new activity supervisor. A good time to make a fresh start with fun activities. There is something for everyone. What will you do? Your help is welcome for example with: - A games morning or afternoon. This can be weekly, or every 2 weeks; - Crafting together in the morning or afternoon. This can also be weekly or every 2 weeks; - A special activity such as flower arranging, a few times a year; - Baking something for or with the residents, a few times a year. With the above activities you help the people with the activity, pour coffee once, and help clean up afterwards. It is also possible that you come at a fixed time, and that the activities change per week. Other possibilities are: - Hand care such as cleaning and painting nails, or massaging/rubbing hands with oil or cream (days and times in consultation); - Walking with a group; some people need to be pushed in the wheelchair and others can ride along themselves (days and times in consultation). When are the activities? These activities will be scheduled on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, in the morning from 10:15 to 12:00 and in the afternoon from 14:15 to 16:00. We would like to hear what suits you. There is still plenty of room for adjustment with all the times; nothing is set in stone yet. As soon as the activities start, this will of course change. When does it suit you? The Claverbladt department offers respiratory care. Most residents are in a wheelchair. Some are physically very limited due to a muscular disease, but are young in age/thoughts and have different tastes and preferences than you might expect at a (elderly) care location. Most of them like to be addressed by their first name and want to do what they can themselves. At the same time, it is nice if you are aware of what you really cannot do yourself. If this appeals to you, and you like something creative, a walk, baking or hand care, you should definitely come and meet us! What does it offer you? Have fun with an enthusiastic supervisor and the residents, a creative activity or fresh air, and especially the satisfaction that you have brightened up the day of the residents! And what do we offer you? At Surplus, volunteer employees are just as much a part of it as paid employees. You are well facilitated, receive a contract, are insured and receive travel expenses (if applicable). You receive training & support and are offered an occasional social gathering. If desired, you are an internal candidate for vacancies. Each department has its own contact person for volunteer employees, who is happy to be available for questions or guidance. Would you also like to become a volunteer with us? Then respond to this vacancy, or have a conversation with Anke, the volunteer coordinator of this location. -- *) Location Elisabeth van Surplus is a lively residential care centre in the centre of Breda, which offers all forms of care, support, housing and recreation. The Elisabeth has been located at this location for over 200 years! Many people from Breda and the surrounding area know it. The building itself has of course changed over time. But in the courtyard you can still see the old farm and the Elisabeth chapel. Since the last renovation, the Elisabeth consists of 3 towers. The outer towers offer rental apartments. The middle tower has 7 floors with care departments, for very different target groups, and each with its own atmosphere. The towers are connected by a boulevard, where you can find a shop, a restaurant and a hair salon.
