Who goes on a tram or train trip?

We are looking for a buddy for a twenty-eight year old young lady from Amstelveen. She has difficulty blending in in a social environment and keeping a conversation going. She can also be unclear in her speech. She lives with her parents and she attends a day care project four days a week. She has no social contacts outside of that. Since childhood she has been involved with trams and trains as a hobby. It is her wish to take a ride on the tram or train every now and then. The young lady wants one-on-one contact with a peer. She hopes to be paired with a female companion between the ages of eighteen and thirty-five. Someone who wants to travel somewhere with her by tram or possibly by train, walk around with her there for a while and then travel back with her. The destination does not have to be far. It is nice if the volunteer has something to say during the tram or train journey. But some silences here and there are okay. The costs will be reimbursed. The young lady can meet on Thursday afternoon or during the weekend. Are you interested in becoming her buddy? Read below how that works. As a volunteer with the Roads Buddy project, we pair you with a regular participant: your buddy. We connect the participant and the volunteer based on, among other things, common interests. The function of this buddy contact is to break through or prevent social isolation for a participant with a psychological vulnerability by going out together. As a volunteer you provide distraction and a bit of fun. It is important that you are prepared to meet with your buddy once every fortnight for one year (longer is possible). Furthermore, you are prepared to enter into the encounter 'openly', without wanting to change the other person. That sometimes requires adaptability. Working hours: During the day or in the evening, during the week or at the weekend: all possible. If you become each other's buddy, you will meet once every two weeks for a period of one year.
