Help refugee children through play & exercise

Weekly · 3 to 5 hours
TeamUp

"They can be a child again for a while... nice that you can give that in a few hours a week. After TeamUp I go home with a satisfied feeling!". ✨ What are you going to do As a volunteer for TeamUp (a program of Save the Children, UNICEF Netherlands and War Child) you offer psychosocial support to refugee children through play and exercise. Through play, children learn to deal with emotions such as anger, fear and stress. You will be trained and supervised in advance and will work at a reception location near you. You are part of an enthusiastic team with other volunteers. At a fixed time during the week, you and your team will guide activities for children aged 6 to 18 years. These activities have a theme and purpose. The activities make children feel safe and protected, more connected to their peers and more optimistic. You also have a signaling role. You learn how to recognize worrying behavior and, if necessary, refer children to specialized care and guidance. ✅ This is you: • Experience in organizing activities for children. Or you have relevant work experience or completed training (or are still studying) in the field of pedagogy, education, social work, sports, games and/or exercise; • Available half a day during the week (3 to 5 hours), from approximately 3.30 pm (day and time varies per location); • Available for a longer period (at least a number of months or longer). Stability is essential for this vulnerable group of children; 🎉 This is what we offer: • A position to gain work experience in this field and to develop yourself further; • The chance to make a real difference in the lives of refugee children, you make an important contribution to their psychosocial well-being; • A place in an international, enthusiastic and professional volunteer team; • Training and follow-up training in facilitating the activities and working with this specific target group; • Counseling and stress management sessions; • Volunteer events; • Travel allowance; Do you recognize yourself in the description and do you think you fit in with our team? Comment below and we will contact you as soon as possible. Child safety is essential for TeamUp. TeamUp therefore does not accept any form of abuse. This subject is addressed in our recruitment and selection procedures. TeamUp is a joint program of Save the Children, UNICEF Netherlands and War Child. TeamUp is made possible in part by the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration (AMIF).

Coordinator Humanitas Home Administration

Coordinator Humanitas Home Administration

Weekly · 1 to 4 hours
Humanitas Regio Breda

In the Breda region, we as volunteers help people to independently arrange their finances, debts and administration. The aim is that these people can continue on their own, or be guided to professional help. Due to the increasing work, we are looking for a second coordinator to strengthen this Humanitas team. Are you someone who really wants to make a difference for someone else? Do you want to do something to prevent or combat poverty? Humanitas Breda is looking for coordinators who volunteer for the Home Administration and Get a Grip. More and more Dutch people are experiencing stress due to their financial situation. More than half a million households have risky debts. 800,000 households have payment problems and no less than 5 million people have no savings to cope with any setbacks. The causes are varied; among other things, divorce, losing a job or growing up in poverty. The consequences are often far-reaching: tensions in the relationship/family, social isolation, physical and/or mental problems, etc. Our Humanitas volunteers therefore consider it important to help residents of Breda get their finances as quickly as possible and hold. The Humanitas Association is: We are a national volunteer organization. Our volunteers help people to change their situation on their own. Our core values: personal responsibility, (recovery of) self-direction, equality and demand-oriented work. Our help is free and always nearby; we have over 80 branches throughout the country. We are independent and are there for everyone regardless of age, background or beliefs. More than 200 volunteers are active at Humanitas Breda, of which 40 for the Home Administration/Get a Grip. One thing is most important to us…. That our participants can say: 'Thanks to the contact with a Humanitas volunteer, I can pick up my own life again.' Humanitas Breda is looking for coordinators who volunteer for the Home Administration (for adults) and Get a Grip (for young people aged 16 to 25). We have a good basis and now want to focus on strengthening and building in order to grow in a targeted manner. Do you want to contribute to this? Are you an entrepreneurial type focused on opportunities and do you know how to realize them concretely? Then this is your chance! As a coordinator you also have the first contact with participants. Together you check what the situation is and what is the best way to help this participant. Knowledge of human nature is important here: participants may experience shame about their situation and do not immediately ask what they actually need. It's up to you to figure out the question behind the question. Then you check which volunteer fits best. If necessary, you map out which other organizations should be involved and/or refer you on. A volunteer helps the participant to arrange and keep financial affairs in order, aimed at self-reliance. As a coordinator you support the volunteer and organize training. As a coordinator you are someone who: • Has a heart for people and likes to work to help others. • Want to be part of a voluntary organization and socially want to make a difference • Willing and able to contribute at least 8 hours a week to these great projects and to do grateful work • Has experience in coordinating in a people-oriented way • Has an entrepreneurial personality focused on opportunities, strengthening and grow • If possible, has experience within the social domain and knowledge of the social card • Has knowledge and is willing to commit to poverty issues and equality of opportunity • Likes to maintain internal and external contacts. • Can keep a good overview. What Humanitas offers you as a coordinator: • A people-oriented environment • Good training and support • Opportunities to help shape new initiatives • Grateful volunteer work • An opportunity to really do something about equality of opportunity, poverty reduction and Self-sustainability. Do you like this? Register today and email us: [email address hidden] For questions, please contact: Coordinator Ad den Boer [phone number hidden].

Volunteer program manager at Over Rood

Weekly · 3 to 4 hours
Over Rood

In relative terms, the Netherlands has the largest number of self-employed persons without employees in the world. Of course, these are not just success stories. Over Rood is a volunteer organization that has been helping self-employed persons and small entrepreneurs to regain overview and insight into their finances for almost 10 years (divided over 15 branches). Not by taking over the problems, but by coaching and working together. A lot is happening in the Netherlands at the moment. The bills and perhaps even the arrears add up quickly. People worry about the future and sometimes consider quitting self-employment. The expectations are gloomy, but Over Rood is ready for the developments. For various locations throughout the Netherlands we are looking for: Volunteers (minimum 4 hours per week) What are you going to do? You guide freelancers in going through a trajectory within Over Rood. The objective of each process is that the client can get to work himself to solve his problems and to work towards a financially healthy future. As a volunteer you share your knowledge and experience with your client and you help to gain structure and overview. You help make difficult choices. You act as a sparring partner. Brings in your knowledge and skills and offers a listening ear. No route is the same. Sometimes the request for help is purely financial-administrative, while at other times advice about business operations makes the difference. You get entrepreneurs out of a negative spiral and help them pick up the thread again. On average you will guide 5 to 10 clients per year with a time commitment of at least 4 hours per week. This is an unpaid position, expenses are (more than) reimbursed. You report directly to the branch manager. What is the profile of a volunteer at Over Rood? Empathetic, unbiased and approachable are Over Rood's core values. We have this in common with our volunteers. As a volunteer you use your knowledge and extensive experience, for example as an independent entrepreneur, director, operational manager or manager in the guidance process. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with people who will benefit greatly from it and you find it a challenge to empower people. In addition, you have the understanding and patience needed to adapt to the pace of the client. You have HBO/University working and thinking level. Knowledge of and experience with managing/coaching/directing (groups of) people. You are empathetic and can empathize with the problems, mental situation and living conditions of clients, without becoming emotionally involved. Demonstrable experience or familiarity with the tricks of the trade when running your own business. Excellent command of the Dutch language in word and writing is a requirement. Important skills: • Being able to listen, summarize and signal well • Structuring, organizing and planning • You can assess a business plan and financial plan • You have basic knowledge of administration and basic knowledge of marketing and sales • You get along well with Excel and find your way on the internet • You have knowledge of different tax types (IB, VAT, Vpb) What do you get in return? Room to make a socially relevant contribution with your knowledge and experience. Appreciation of clients and satisfaction in your work. You make a valuable contribution to the Dutch economy and a healthy business climate, which also offers support in difficult times. Independent work with very good support from the organization where you can determine your own times. Socially involved colleagues who, just like you, use their knowledge, experience and strength to really make a difference for our clients. A solid and instructive internal training. Do you recognize yourself in the above profile? Then we are very curious about you!

OpenEmbassy

Shahed (17) would like to complete HAVO. Will you help her with Dutch? Thanks to the help of another homeschooling buddy, Shahed was able to complete her VMBO with good grades. Now she is in 4 Havo and can use some extra support again. She is looking for an online TOMaatje who wants to help her successfully complete high school. Do you want to help someone realize her potential? We are looking for a volunteer for Shahed who: - Want to teach online once a week. - Has a good command of the Dutch language. - Is not afraid of the upper secondary school material to ensure that you can make good agreements. In consultation, you agree on a time during the week when you can provide online support. After that, it's time to have fun contact with each other and, above all, do a lot of homework together. How do we support you? You will receive guidance from TOMaatjes at the start, with tips for lesson content and access to the community with other TOMaatjes in it. Every 1-2 months there is an online intervision with lectures from professionals or you can discuss in groups how you can get more out of the tutoring. What do I need for it? - Be open to another culture. - Before you can start, we will request a Certificate of Good Conduct for you free of charge. Once it has arrived, you can start as soon as possible. - Want to help with everything that is covered in the upper years of HAVO. Being a homeschooling buddy is truly a very rewarding task. It starts with tutoring, but many of our volunteers really build a bond with the family where they work. Shahed's previous TOMaatje wrote this about her: "Until last summer holidays, I (as TOMaatje) guided a Syrian girl for 3 years, during which she transitioned from framework to theoretical, with the end result being a T-diploma with an average above 7. A wonderful result that gives me great satisfaction. left, and she can still fall back on me. My reward was her facial expression and that of her parents when I unexpectedly appeared at the graduation ceremony." We hope to welcome you soon if TOMaatje for Shahed or one of the many other children could use help.
