Join us during the Night of the Refugee

NLvoorelkaar

Can you imagine it? That you have to leave everything behind from one day to the next? And flee headlong with your family, your neighbors or sometimes all alone to a destination that is still unknown? 💔 Never before have so many people fled war, conflict and oppression. By participating in the Night of the Refugee, you commit yourself to them: you draw attention to their stories in a positive way and have your kilometers sponsored. The more money you raise, the more emergency aid we can provide together!! 💪🏼 During the 2023 edition with no fewer than 5,500 participants, more than 1.3 million euros was raised! A fantastic amount! This allowed the Refugee Foundation to give Sudanese refugees, among others, access to clean (drinking) water and sanitary facilities. They also provided emergency aid packages for people who had to flee the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and supported them with, among other things, nutrition in Ethiopia and Burkina Faso. Are you also participating this year? Register individually, with your family, friends, sports club, company or school. Occupational health experts wanted: benefits for Lyme

Lymevereniging

Do you want to help patients in a vulnerable position with their jobs and income and contribute directly to a better quality of life? Then we are looking for you! 💪 WHAT DOES THE LYME ASSOCIATION BENEFITS WORKING GROUP DO? ADVISING THE BOARD: This working group advises the board of the Lyme Association on options to support people with Lyme in receiving income replacement benefits (sickness benefit, WIA, IVA, Wajong, social assistance, etc.); questions are also raised about occupational health and safety rules, the company doctor and the WMO. PROVIDING TRAININGS: The working group also organizes the 'UWV training': a training that prepares people with Lyme for their disability trajectory. GUIDANCE CLIENTS: Finally, the working group has volunteers with a great deal of experience who guide individual people with Lyme through their application process, via email and telephone; We are now looking for an additional volunteer for this work. This guidance is not easy, because the matter is complicated and people experience a lot of resistance when obtaining benefits. But the work is also extremely satisfying, because we regularly manage to help someone effectively. If you succeed, such a person will be free of worries for years, and that is partly thanks to you. Depending on the time you are available, you will be assigned more or fewer applicants. 🔍 WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? The benefits working group would like to add more people with a social legal background to the team, so that our expertise becomes even broader. This includes occupational health and safety experts, (labor) lawyers, medical examiners, judges, psychologists and lawyers. Is your expertise not listed here, but do you think you can add something to our team? Be sure to register! ⏱️ LOCATION AND COMMITMENT Volunteer work with the benefits working group can be done entirely from home. It is possible to join UWV training courses (which sometimes take place on location), but this is not mandatory. Travel reimbursement is available for this. A commitment of at least 2 hours per week would be desirable. 💚 WHAT CAN WE OFFER YOU? 1️⃣ Interesting volunteer work with which you make a direct positive impact on the lives of people in a vulnerable position. 2️⃣ Guidance by experienced volunteers so you can always turn to someone for help and advice. 3️⃣ This function can be done entirely from home and bed. 4️⃣ Volunteer allowance for commitments of more than ten hours per month. 5️⃣ The option to regularly co-work with other volunteers. That is cozy and practical. It is not mandatory to participate. 6️⃣ Expense reimbursement. 7️⃣ Possibility of training. ❗️ INTEREST Would you like to join us in the benefits working group? Send us a message and we will talk to you as soon as possible! Do you have no social legal background, but would you still like to contribute to the benefits working group? Be sure to register!

Mentorship enriches your world

Mentorschap Noordwest en Midden

Imagine that due to illness or a disability you are not able to stand up for your own healthcare interests. And you don't have a family who can help you with this. Wouldn't you also be happy with a mentor? Someone who visits you regularly to get to know you well. Your wishes and opinions are well expressed. And helps you make decisions in care and well-being. Ilse certainly is. She is 58 years old and has an intellectual disability. She finds it difficult to make decisions about care and welfare for herself. That is why she is very happy with her mentor Renske. As a mentor, Renske is Ilse's legal representative and confidential adviser. She visits her regularly and then they go for a walk or play a game. She also helps her to make choices in care and well-being. For example about whether or not to vaccinate or operate. Renske also regularly consults with Ilse's care providers. She ensures that agreements made are fulfilled. For Ilse, mentorship means maintaining one's own direction. Renske finds the mentorship an enrichment of her life. Renske is one of the 370 voluntary mentors of the Northwest and Central Mentorship Foundation. Our Foundation offers mentorship to adults with an intellectual or psychiatric disability or dementia. Mentorship is a legal protective measure, which is instituted by the court. Our Foundation is appointed for this by the court and as a mentor you carry out the mentorship. The Foundation trains and guides you in your role as a mentor. What do you get as a mentor? • challenging volunteer work with content and personal contact • work with a large personal contribution, which you can organize flexibly • training and guidance • a good match with the client • a monthly expense allowance Are you the person who: • can empathize well with others • is communicative and dares to make decisions • has been trained at least at MBO-4 level • is available at least 4 hours per month Besides Ilse, there are many more people who are looking for a mentor, so become a mentor too! Are you interested and do you want to know more? Please contact us by sending an email.

Reading hero wanted

Taal Doet Meer

Reader VoorleesExpress Utrecht The new reading season is just around the corner and we are curious if you are interested in reading to a family in Utrecht. Of course we hope so, because we would like a reading hero like you in our team! In the VoorleesExpress Utrecht project, a voluntary reader comes home for twenty weeks to a family with children aged 2 to 8 years. These are children who have difficulty with the Dutch language and grow up in a language-poor home environment. Together with the family, the reader gets to work on language development and the language offer by reading and playing language games Through your efforts, you ensure that parents and children enjoy language more. After all, you need language to make friends, talk to your children's teacher, go to the doctor, find a job or do your homework. Meaningful work with a major social impact! At the same time you get to know other cultures, you get a lot of enthusiastic Taal Doet Meer colleagues and you are guided and trained by a coordinator. We ask that you are available at a fixed time for about 2 hours a week for a period of 20 weeks. You are at least 18 years old and you are able to communicate easily with different people. You are willing to participate in consultations with your coordinator and of course you enjoy reading books to young children and involving their parents. Interested? Then respond to this request for help!

Exercise buddies wanted!

Beweegmaatjes

RESUME We are looking for volunteers who want to exercise or play sports for an hour a week together with vulnerable Utrecht residents, young or old. DETAILED DESCRIPTION You think it is very normal for you to participate in sports and exercise. You do it with pleasure and get satisfaction and energy in return. Unfortunately, this is not self-evident for a large number of fellow Utrecht residents. For example, due to a disability or psychological problems, which means that the threshold for doing something sporty is too high for them. Some people don't dare, don't know the way or are lonely. You can make a difference for these people by guiding them and leading them to appropriate exercise options. WHO ARE WE? Beweegmaatjes links local residents and/or volunteers to exercise together. Exercising together is fun, motivating and healthy. The Beweegmaatjes team is committed to making good matches and providing advice about sports and exercise in the neighborhood. Under the leadership of Vivian, the organization of Beweegmaatjes is largely possible through the efforts of students and volunteers. HOW DOES IT WORK? After registering, we will look for a suitable search buddy and match you. Together with your buddy, you make agreements about which sport you will do, when and how often. You decide how often you volunteer, this can be done with just an hour a week. WHAT DOES IT PROVIDE? You help others to (again) actively participate in daily life. How much that can mean to someone cannot really be expressed in words. So your help is priceless. ARE YOU INTERESTED? Register via the orange button below with I want to help on it, we will contact you and first have an introductory meeting! If you have any questions or would like more information, you can contact us by sending us a message or visit the Sportutrecht website --> in the area --> exercise buddies for our email address. For an extra impression, watch the explanation video of Beweegmaatjes on YouTube on the SportUtrecht channel with the title: Help a local resident get moving, register as an exercise buddy!

Speelotheek Hoograven

The Toy Library Hoograven (a library full of toys) is looking for backup! Here every child has access to cool and age-appropriate toys. Fun, social and sustainable. By sharing things, they are reused, we throw away less and we make more conscious choices when purchasing our own toys. Cool! Help out as a toy inspector. Every Wednesday evening from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM we check the toys that are returned. That's a lot of work, but it's always fun with good coffee, tea, lemonade and treats. Do you like planning/organizing? Great, we participate in NL Doet, Neighborhood Day and neighborhood markets. The play library also wants to organize activities such as a board game evening. You can participate in the events/activities team at times that suit you, in consultation with the others. Our toy team manages the toy collection. They buy new toys and make incomplete toys complete again. Preparing new toys for lending is a lot of work. Entering data into the computer, providing everything with codes, taking photos for the catalogue. We often do this together during coding mornings or evenings. We are also looking for people who want to make cool videos about the Toy Library. About toys, about lending and about our fun work. We are looking for people for the Monday afternoon service from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Help is needed on Saturday mornings from 9:15 AM - 11:30 AM. So we check toys every Wednesday evening from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM. You can organize and carry out other tasks & matters (activity team, toy team) according to your own agenda. We always work as a team, with many great colleagues. There is also a fun staff party every year and you can borrow from the Toy Library for free. Check the site www.speelotheekhoograven.nl for more information. You are very welcome, we would love to get to know you. Hopefully see you soon & cheerful greetings Judith Coordinator Hoograven Toy Library
