Support parent(s)

SOL (Samen Ondernemend Leren)

Raising children is quite a job. Sometimes as a parent you can use some help with this. Do you have time and space to support a family? Then register as a volunteer support parent. Whether you are available for 3 hours or 24 hours, all help is welcome! Short explanation Support parents are adult volunteers (with or without children, young or old, single or together) who provide a hospitable home to a child one or two half-days a week. In this way they provide families with support. Your help as a support parent helps prevent problems in families from arising or worsening. You offer a child a familiar place where they are welcome and can be a child. This gives parents space to catch their breath and it is nice to experience how you can share the care of children together. We ask • Age of at least 21 years (preferably with some life experience); • Wanting and being able to offer a child a hospitable home in accordance with agreements made; • Being able to offer a child peace and regularity and focusing on stimulating the child's development; • Being able to reflect on one's own behavior; • Have a Certificate of Good Conduct (no costs involved) We offer • Introductory meeting (drafting a profile); • Training to gain tips and experiences; • Support and guidance from the support parent coordinator; • A volunteer agreement; • Third party liability and accident insurance during the work; Location: • Submunicipality of Feijenoord When • Days and times in consultation Knowing more? Support parent boy 8 years Bloemhof/Tarwewijk

SOL (Samen Ondernemend Leren)

Raising children is not always easy. Sometimes as a parent you can use some help with this. Do you love children and do you still have some time left? Whether you are available for 2 hours or 24 hours, you are very welcome! Short explanation A slightly different request than normal from Support Parent. This concerns a transport problem to and from school due to: a chronic condition of the single mother. The mother's social network has disappeared in recent years and she cannot rely on social services from the municipality. Due to pain complaints, a mother is often unable to take her son to school (on time) in the morning. Her son goes to school in the Tarwewijk - a daily walk of 13 minutes or 5 minutes by car. Can you empathize with her situation or does this question fit into your daily routine (school starts at 8.20 am) then I would like to ask you to contact me. Support parent boy 5 years old Vreewijk

SOL (Samen Ondernemend Leren)

Raising children is not always easy. Sometimes as a parent you can use some help with this. Do you love children and do you still have some time left? Then read on. Short explanation This concerns a single father with a 5-year-old son from Vreewijk. A lot has happened in the family and father would like it if his son could play somewhere without worries. This also gives father time and space to catch his breath. His son is happy playing outside and being active. He initially looks around, but gets used to it quite quickly and is easy to deal with. Listens to what is said to him. A family with children, an older couple or single. Everything is possible, as long as there is space, time and attention and his son is allowed to be himself. We ask • Age of at least 21 years (preferably with some life experience) • Wanting and being able to offer a child a hospitable home in accordance with agreements made • Being able to offer a child peace and regularity and focusing on stimulating the child's development • Being able to reflect on one's own behavior • Have a Certificate of Good Conduct (no costs involved); We offer • Introductory meeting (drafting a profile) • Training to gain tips and experiences • Support and guidance from the support parent coordinator • A volunteer agreement; • Third party liability and accident insurance during the work; Location: • Feijenoord district – Vreewijk district When • Days and times in consultation. Support parent girl 2 years Katendrecht center

SOL (Samen Ondernemend Leren)

Raising children is not always easy. Sometimes as a parent you can use some help with this. Do you love children and do you still have some time left? Then read on. Short explanation This concerns an expat family from Japan with a 2-year-old daughter and a newborn. Parents have been in the Netherlands longer than expected and have no network outside their own community. They would like it if their daughter came into more contact with the Dutch language and culture and are looking for an (older) couple who can more or less fulfill the role of a grandfather and grandmother. Especially now that their daughter has to share time and attention with her newborn brother. Their daughter loves to be creative. She likes to play with clay, paint or Lego and loves to dance. She can be a bit shy at first, but she is a real sweetheart. Always a smile on her face. Preferably no (large) dogs in the house, because she is afraid of them. We ask • Age of at least 21 years (preferably with some life experience) • Wanting and being able to offer a child a hospitable home in accordance with agreements made • Being able to offer a child peace and regularity and focusing on stimulating the child's development • Being able to reflect on one's own behavior • Have a Certificate of Good Conduct (no costs involved); We offer • Introductory meeting (drafting a profile) • Training to gain tips and experiences • Support and guidance from the support parent coordinator • A volunteer agreement; • Third party liability and accident insurance during the work; Location: • Center Rotterdam (falls under Support Parent Rotterdam Feijenoord) When • Days and times in consultation. Support parent for boy 5 years old Vreewijk

SOL (Samen Ondernemend Leren)

Raising children is not always easy. Every parent can use a helping hand sometimes. Can you lend a helping hand? Short explanation This concerns an energetic 5-year-old boy. He lives with his father and mother and his older autistic sister. Because his sister needs a lot of attention, there is not always time and space to do activities with him. And that is necessary. He has a lot of energy and has difficulty dealing with emotions. Gets overstimulated quickly. To prevent this, he likes to go outside. The playground and petting zoo are favorites. Parents would like it if a supportive parent could give him 1 on 1 attention and make fun memories with him. Will you give these overburdened parents a helping hand? We ask • Age of at least 21 years (preferably parenting experience) • Wanting and being able to offer a child a hospitable home in accordance with agreements made • Being able to offer a child peace and regularity and focusing on stimulating the child's development • Being able to reflect on one's own behavior • Have a Certificate of Good Conduct (no costs involved); We offer • Introductory meeting (drafting a profile) • Training to gain tips and experiences • Support and guidance from the support parent coordinator • A volunteer agreement; • Third party liability and accident insurance during the work; Location: • Feijenoord district – Hillesluis district When • Every other week on Wednesdays and occasionally during the weekend Knowing more? For the same reason, it is difficult to join regular activities such as swimming lessons or football training. SOL (Samen Ondernemend Leren)

TOM training courses have started in Rotterdam (Home Carefree Mobile). TOM helps people over 65 improve their muscle strength and balance to reduce the risk of falls. The participants work in a group with a physiotherapist twice a week on exercises to improve muscle strength, balance and coordination. They also receive information and tips on how to stand firmer on their legs to prevent a fall. They receive personal nutritional advice twice on the basis of a completed food diary. In addition, the dietitian provides information about healthy eating during 6 lunches with the group. Tasks At all general meetings (information, starting and final meeting): • provide coffee and tea; • welcome the elderly; • catch up, make contact with the elderly. During exercise training (occasionally present): • help with exercises; • chat with the elderly; • motivate elderly people to continue with the exercise exercises. Who takes care of the caregiver?

SOL (Samen Ondernemend Leren)

Who has time to help the caregiver? The informal caregiver cares for many hours of his/her week, but who actually cares for him/her? Simple things that can mean a lot because informal care takes up so much time, but your own life also continues! It would be so welcome if there is someone who has time to perhaps cook a meal for the informal caregiver and care recipient... Maybe do a job for the informal caregiver, one of those jobs that gets left behind every time, but stays in your head... A cup of tea and a chat with the care recipient so that the caregiver has his hands free for a while. Who could help occasionally? Just get to know each other in a very accessible way and hope that a nice click is created and that you can do something for each other. If you would like to contact me, I would love to hear from you :)
