Help requested at Buurderij Zevenhuizen

Stichting Boer & Buurt

Buurderij Zevenhuizen provides a direct connection between farmers, growers, producers and consumers. Every week you can order fresh vegetables, the best meat, delicious eggs, dairy, bread, honey and much more via the Buurderij Zevenhuizen platform. Grown, raised and processed with care and love by local farmers, growers and producers. This ensures that farmers and growers receive a fair price for their products and that consumers know where their food comes from. The 'neighbours' order their products via the online store every week. Together with volunteers, we ensure that these orders are ready for the neighbors on Saturday morning. To this end, we will be working on Friday and Saturday mornings preparing orders and issuing them. Would you like to join an enthusiastic and fun group of volunteers? And/or would you like more information about what the work entails? Please contact us by sending a message. Take a look at the Buurderij via https://www.boerenbuurt.nl/de-buurderij/

St. Boer & Buurt is looking for communication talent

Stichting Boer & Buurt

About the Foundation The Boer & Buurt Foundation was founded in mid-2022 by committed residents of the municipality of Zuidplas and wants to contribute to the transition of the Eendragtspolder in Zevenhuizen to a polder where farming takes place in a nature-inclusive way. The reason for this is the wish of the Rottemeren Recreation Board to transform the agricultural part of the Eendragtspolder into an accessible area in which agriculture, nature and recreation are interwoven. This wish arises from the expected increase in recreational pressure in the area. We want to be an active participant in the process of transforming the Eendragtspolder. We want to work with the current landowners and users and the authorities involved to arrive at a joint vision for this polder. The starting point is a landscape full of nature, hospitable agriculture with and for the city and business for the farmers. More information about the foundation can be found on the website of the farmer and neighborhood foundation. http://www.stichtingboerenbuurt.nl About the board The board of Stichting Boer & Buurt now consists of seven people, each with a different background, qualities and tasks within the board. We meet approximately once every six weeks (in Zevenhuizen) to discuss current matters and make agreements for the future. In between we keep in touch via a joint group app. What are you going to do? We are looking for a new board member who will primarily be concerned with communications for the Foundation. You don't do that alone; the tasks are divided among a number of board members depending on everyone's availability. This includes: * Maintaining the website www.stichtingboerenbuurt.nl in WordPress (knowledge already available to some board members) * Writing the occasional newsletter * Occasional writing or editing of press releases, texts or letters * Thinking about other ways in which we can highlight the foundation's activities and develop these into action plans * Regularly attending meetings, gatherings, etc., where it is useful if representatives of the Foundation are present. What do you have at home? * You preferably have a background in (strategic) marketing and communication, and you also know something about nature-inclusive agriculture or are interested in it; * You have a fluent pen, write flawless Dutch and know how to strike the right tone; * You understand WordPress and/or other CMS systems or are not afraid to delve into them; * You enjoy actively connecting with people who are also concerned with these topics; * You have an average of one hour available per week. More information? Have you become enthusiastic but do you still have questions? Please contact Petra Reijnhoudt (06-27027110). You can also contact them if you are interested in the position.

Do you want to become a mentor?

Stichting Mentorschap Rotterdam eo

At the moment we are urgently looking for volunteers who want to become a mentor for clients living in the neighborhoods of Delfshaven, Overschie, Schiebroek, Centrum, Kralingen or Hillegersberg. In principle, you become a mentor to 1 client and sometimes to 2 clients. Our clients all live in Rotterdam and its immediate surroundings. We have clients from young to old, with different cultural backgrounds. We think it is important that there is a click between the mentor and the client. Volunteering is not only important but also a lot of fun! As a mentor you make the difference! Mentoring is for people who cannot stand up for themselves and have no family or others to fall back on. These are adults who, due to their illness or disability, have difficulty understanding information and making decisions in certain situations. It is difficult for them to maintain control when it comes to their care, nursing, guidance and treatment. A mentor helps them with this. Our clients live in a residential facility or (still) at home. The mentor: You visit the client twice a month, during which the following points can also be discussed. • You maintain contact with care providers • You consult with the care providers about the implementation of agreements • You ensure that your client receives the care according to the agreements made • You pay attention to your client • You can make decisions together and if necessary on behalf of the client • You have good communication skills • You can respond to unforeseen circumstances As a mentor, you start your mentorship after you have completed the basic training (also possible online). During the mentorship you will be guided and coached by an experienced mentor (regional supporter) and the coordinator of your region and through intervision together with mentors within your region. There are regular theme meetings where specific cases are discussed. Every year, all mentors meet on Mentor's Day. You will of course receive an expense allowance for carrying out a mentorship. Are you interested or do you want more information? Please contact us via this site.

Will you help Shahed (17) complete his HAVO?

OpenEmbassy

Shahed (17) would like to complete HAVO. Will you help her with Dutch? Thanks to the help of another homeschooling buddy, Shahed was able to complete her VMBO with good grades. Now she is in 4 Havo and can use some extra support again. She is looking for an online TOMaatje who wants to help her successfully complete high school. Do you want to help someone realize her potential? We are looking for a volunteer for Shahed who: - Want to teach online once a week. - Has a good command of the Dutch language. - Is not afraid of the upper secondary school material to ensure that you can make good agreements. In consultation, you agree on a time during the week when you can provide online support. After that, it's time to have fun contact with each other and, above all, do a lot of homework together. How do we support you? You will receive guidance from TOMaatjes at the start, with tips for lesson content and access to the community with other TOMaatjes in it. Every 1-2 months there is an online intervision with lectures from professionals or you can discuss in groups how you can get more out of the tutoring. What do I need for it? - Be open to another culture. - Before you can start, we will request a Certificate of Good Conduct for you free of charge. Once it has arrived, you can start as soon as possible. - Want to help with everything that is covered in the upper years of HAVO. Being a homeschooling buddy is truly a very rewarding task. It starts with tutoring, but many of our volunteers really build a bond with the family where they work. Shahed's previous TOMaatje wrote this about her: "Until last summer holidays, I (as TOMaatje) guided a Syrian girl for 3 years, during which she transitioned from framework to theoretical, with the end result being a T-diploma with an average above 7. A wonderful result that gives me great satisfaction. left, and she can still fall back on me. My reward was her facial expression and that of her parents when I unexpectedly appeared at the graduation ceremony." We hope to welcome you soon if TOMaatje for Shahed or one of the many other children could use help.

Home-Start; light (parenting) support

Home Start Humanitas Rotterdam

Would you like to make a family with young children happy with your weekly visits? We support families with young children who are having a hard time, by linking the family to a volunteer. After extensive preparatory training and conversations, the volunteer visits the family once a week for a few hours and offers support that the family asks for, so that the mother/father feels better about herself. The support can be anything, but the main thing is that the volunteer establishes a relationship of trust with the mother/father. As a volunteer you will receive great support from us; both individually and in groups. We offer thorough training, plus reimbursement of expenses. We regularly hear from our volunteers that they get a lot of satisfaction from the work, not only the family is happy, but the volunteer himself too! We require an average commitment of 2 to 4 hours per week (sometimes once every two weeks) and the capacity to be there for someone and to really listen to the other person. A positive and active attitude to life and the ability to give compliments are important qualities. Being able to name the things that do go well (because they are always there!) and of course enjoy working with children. If you are interested or have questions, you can always contact me or one of my colleagues without obligation via a message. Home-Start Rotterdam is part of the Humanitas foundation.
