Vacancy Volunteer Coach in Families Humanitas Do you help a family on their way? Parents do what they can, but sometimes families can't figure it out themselves. With a few hours of support a week, you can make a difference! As a volunteer, you bring peace to the family Humanitas connects volunteers to families who need support. Tailored to the more accessible or more challenging questions of a family and your wishes and qualities, you will support a family for a half day a week for a period of about a year. You offer a listening ear and/or think along with possibilities. You help a parent to find solutions themselves, so that parents can confidently face the future again. By your presence and input, you take the pressure off and bring peace to the family! and what do you get out of it? • A lot of appreciation! • An extensive training combined with e-learning • Contact with other volunteers • Professional guidance • Thematic meetings • Personal development • Travel expenses Are you our new volunteer? Don't doubt whether you have what it takes to become a volunteer at Humanitas. We will look at your qualities with you and find a suitable family for them. Do you recognize yourself in the points below? Then we are looking for you! • You are looking for a challenge and practical experience • You have experience with children and raising children, as a parent, student or professional • You want to develop personally • You want to mean something to others • You have patience and are a good listener • You want to offer emotional and practical support Interested? We are looking for volunteers in Eindhoven, but certainly also in the surrounding area, such as Veldhoven, Valkenwaard, Best, Geldrop / Mierlo, etc. Send your response to me. You will receive a response as soon as possible. Do you have a question first? Then send a message. Experiences of our volunteers Karina: "In my work as a nurse, I regularly gave unsolicited advice. Now that I provide support to a family as a volunteer, I know that this often does not work. By taking the time and listening carefully, a bond is created and it becomes clear what the family really needs. I find it fun and special to visit a family at home and help them along the way and also do fun things together with the children. A father told me that he had gained more self-confidence. Nice to hear”. Anita: “Experiencing a reunion between parent and child feels like a beach moment in slow motion” Monica: “I had just started at Humanitas when they asked me if I wanted to guide Marieke’s children. I was shocked when I heard that she had not seen her children for more than 5 months at that time. Heartbreaking. For Marieke as a mother, but especially for the children. I am a child of divorced parents myself. And I know from my own experience what it does to you when you can no longer or are not allowed to see one of your parents. Many parents make the mistake of using their children as a chess piece in mutual arguments. What many parents do not know is that the anger at the ex-partner is unconsciously projected onto the child. After all, they ARE part dad and part mom. And I haven't even mentioned the conflict of loyalty that these children have."

Kind aan Huis is looking for families in Tiel and surrounding areas

Humanitas Vriendschappelijk Huisbezoek

Child at home in Tiel You want children to grow up in a pleasant environment. Sometimes there are tensions within the family or there is little attention, for example due to illness, poverty, social isolation or divorce. Then it can be nice that, as a child, you can be in a different environment once a week, with a different family. An environment where you can be a carefree child and feel welcome; “At home in another house.” Not having to care for your child for a while can also bring peace and space for parents. Kind aan Huis is a program in which volunteer home families open their homes and hearts for half a day every week to children/young people (0-18 years) from the municipality of Tiel. They offer the child a safe place and, if necessary, give the parent(s) of the requesting family some peace and space. The home family is therefore a valuable support for both the questioning parent(s) and the child. Home families of all compositions and ages can register! The home families are involved and empathetic. They understand that sometimes a small change of environment can make a big difference. Contact between the home family and the requesting family is made on the basis of equality and trust. How does Kind aan Huis work? • After registration, the coordinator will meet the requesting and home families. • The coordinator looks for the right connection. • Humanitas applies for a Certificate of Good Conduct for all family members of the home family, aged 18 years and older. • The families meet with the coordinator present. • Agreements are made about the connection. • The coordinator supervises the connection, which means that she is available for questions or if there is anything. • The child participates in the home family, receives positive attention and participates in everyday activities. • This concerns temporary shelter, one half day per week for a period of one year. • Home families receive training and guidance from the project coordinators. Volunteer Support at Loss

Weekly · 1 to 2 hours
Humanitas Vriendschappelijk Huisbezoek

Are you looking for inspiring volunteer work? Where you mean something to someone else and learn a lot yourself? Then you've come to the right place. These are your duties As a volunteer of 'Support at Loss', you support and coach people who are dealing with grief surrounding a major loss. You will be paired with one regular participant (= help seeker) with whom you will regularly drink a cup of coffee or tea. This creates a bond in which someone can tell his or her story. As a volunteer you listen and encourage to face any emotions. You think about how someone can start life again - with this loss. And you try to keep in mind that the participant benefits most from their own solutions and their own strengths. A Support for Loss process usually lasts a year. We ask this of you ● You have gained the necessary life experience, preferably also around grief and loss. ● You have a positive attitude to life. ● It is your intention to stay for at least a year so that a participant does not have to unnecessarily experience a change of permanent volunteer. We are aware that no one can make certain commitments in this area - what matters here is intention. We offer you this ● Grateful work in which you can experience meaning; ● You make new contacts and get to know people you might not easily encounter in your daily life; ● Personal guidance from the coordinator. Contact with your fellow volunteers: the group meets several times a year to exchange ideas and inspire each other. ● Access to our Humanitas Academy, so you can get started well prepared. But also other fun training courses and webinars; ● Reimbursement for the expenses you incur and insurance; ● A free membership of Humanitas. Where are you going to work? Humanitas Zaanstreek-Waterland is part of the Humanitas Association, one of the largest volunteer organizations in the Netherlands. We are active in all seven municipalities within the Zaanstreek-Waterland GGD region. Our volunteers help others as a buddy, for example someone who is lonely or has lost track of their finances. Our principles are based on our humanistic values: ● Equality: Our volunteers stand next to the participant, never above them. ● Own control: Our volunteers do not take control, but help people take control of their own lives again. ● Responsibility: You are not only responsible for yourself, but also for others. ● Demand-oriented: We are open to new themes and respond to what is in demand. Interested? Excited about this vacancy? Send your motivation and possibly your CV immediately to [email address hidden]. If you have any questions first, please contact Emilieke.
