Are you an open and enthusiastic person who enjoys guiding students aged about 10 in school garden lessons? Would you like to help them with sowing, weeding and harvesting? Do you also like being outside and are not afraid of dirty hands? Then we are looking for you! Who are we? With more than 20 employees, NME manages 6 locations in the city: 2 city farms (the Schoterhoeve and the Houthoeve), 3 school garden complexes (Schotertuin, Kortenaertuin and Cornelia Westerdorptuin) and 1 main location in the Haarlemmer Kweektuin. Every year, 190,000 visitors are received who are interested in guest lessons, workshops, teaching boxes, materials, outings, internships and farm visits. About 50% of Haarlem primary schools participate in NME's educational activities. What are you going to do? We are looking for volunteers to help guide the children during the school garden lessons. Sowing, planting, harvesting and eating! Preparing and cleaning up the teaching materials is also part of your duties. You can choose from three school garden complexes, namely the Schotertuin in the Schoterbos, the Cornelia Westendorptuin on the van Dortstraat or the Kortenaertuin in the Kortenaerstraat. We will agree on the exact day(s) and time(s) together. A Certificate of Good Conduct is required for this volunteer work. Do you have any questions? Or interested in the position?
