The objective of the HDI is to help people with cancer and their loved ones to emotionally process cancer. We want to achieve this by offering the best proven psychological care, conducting applied scientific research and providing professional development to professionals in oncology. The HDI has a beautiful garden around the institute. Our clients enjoy it immensely. They regularly stop to admire all the beauty. Every Wednesday morning (except when it is raining heavily or freezing) from approximately 9:00 to 12:30, a team of 6 garden volunteers keeps the HDI garden in order. A pleasant, motivated group of people with a warm heart for the HDI. There is room for more enthusiastic new gardeners who love gardens and gardening and would like to join our group of gardeners. Gardening experience is not required, but can be learned by doing. Are you interested in contributing to our wonderful organization? We look forward to meeting you. You will become part of a wonderful group of volunteers (52 people). Once a year we organize a volunteer meeting, so that you can also meet the hostesses and hosts and hear more about our wonderful institution. You are also very welcome to attend the end-of-year meeting. There you can get to know the permanent employees of the HDI better. For several older residents we are looking for someone who wants to cycle on the side-by-side tandem. You sit side by side on this electrically assisted bicycle. COSA is a meaningful volunteer task. You support a sex offender in his re-socialization in society. This way you contribute to a safer society! As a volunteer at COSA, you, together with other volunteers, form a social network around a sex offender with the aim of breaking through isolation and working towards social inclusion. Volunteers support the person in finding their way in society. This can be done by offering a listening ear, offering practical help and undertaking activities. Drink a cup of coffee somewhere, take a walk and also provide support in developing your own network/hobbies and other activities. In addition, the volunteers are an extra pair of eyes and ears to help the sex offender stay on the right path. A COSA process takes an average of 1.5-2 years and requires a time investment of 2 hours per week. Social isolation When a sex offender returns to society after serving a sentence, unrest often arises. Social isolation, social exclusion and emotional loneliness lurk. COSA is committed, together with volunteers and professionals, to breaking this isolation. They support the sex offender in his reintegration into society. Every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon, the residents of d'Amandelboom eat a hot meal together. From 11.15 am to 1.30 pm you are busy setting the table, serving the food and cleaning up. A Welfare employee is present. Our residents live independently in their apartment and receive care where necessary. One has more physical complaints, the other needs more social guidance.

For example, just like Renske, who is Ilse's mentor. Ilse has an intellectual disability and finds it difficult to make her own decisions regarding care and welfare. As a mentor, Renske is Ilse's legal representative and confidant. She helps her make choices such as whether or not to vaccinate or operate. Renske also ensures that agreements made are fulfilled through consultation with Ilse's care providers. She visits her regularly and then they take a walk or play a game. For Ilse, mentorship means maintaining self-direction. Renske finds the mentorship an enrichment of her life. Renske is one of the 370 voluntary mentors of Stichting Mentorschap Noordwest en Midden. Our Foundation offers mentorship to adults with an intellectual or psychiatric disability, dementia or acquired brain injury. The Foundation trains and guides you in your role as a mentor. De Wijngaard receives daily visitors from the Zeist area in the Day Center. These visitors receive a pleasant and meaningful day. They are picked up from home by volunteer drivers and brought back home. We are looking for extra drivers who can drive a ride on Tuesday morning or Friday morning. You can use the Vineyard's Caddy for this.
