Contact Circle Coordinator (voluntary)

Rode Kruis Regio Zuid - (Brabant / Zeeland / Limburg)

Fortunately, in the Netherlands we do not often have to deal with major disasters. Still, it makes sense to be well prepared for a possible disaster. The Red Cross' Well Prepared activities focus on being prepared for emergencies and accidents in and around the home. One of these activities is the Contact Circle. A Contact Circle consists of a group of people who form a circle together by contacting each other by telephone every day to ask if everything is going well. Calling has an alarm function and prevents it from going unnoticed for more than 24 hours if something is wrong with a participant. If a participant does not answer, a contact person will be called to take a look. In addition, the Contact Circle also functions as an information channel in times of emergency. Contact circles are organized at the Red Cross at a local level. In Tilburg we are looking for a Contact Circle Coordinator. What are you going to do? - As coordinator of the Contact Circle, you are the first point of contact for volunteers. You give them advice or are a listening ear if they want to tell their story. Once a month you take the initiative yourself and call the volunteers so that there are short lines of communication between each other - You take care of new participants, hold intake interviews and register them - You keep the district coordinator informed of progress - In the beginning, you arrange a weekly call with the participants to check whether the circle is running properly - Twice a year you organize a meeting for all volunteers of the Contact Circle at your location What do we ask of you? - You are good at inspiring, connecting and motivating others - You take initiative in making new contacts - You have an affinity with the target group of the Contact Circle, the elderly - You have patience and excellent empathy - You can work with computer programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel. We also work a lot with Teams for online meetings and document management - A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), which can be requested free of charge - You are preferably available 1 fixed morning per week. What do we offer you? Fascinating and challenging volunteer work at a special organization. Working in an enthusiastic team with plenty of room for initiative and personal development. Volunteer Club for the Disabled

PSW Vrije Tijd

Every Wednesday evening PSW Vrije Tijd organizes a club evening for people with intellectual disabilities, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The activities that are organized are very diverse, such as crafts, kibbles, music evenings, visits to the shooting club, games, theme evenings, etc. The club is run by volunteers, who are supported by a professional team from PSW Vrije Tijd. Together with the other volunteers you create the program and implement it. The aim of the club is to provide the participants (30) with an enjoyable evening.
