If you have time for a chat or an excursion, you would be happy to lend a listening ear, you are more than welcome! Become a buddy! What does being a buddy mean? As a volunteer buddy, you have 1-on-1 contact with a client (buddy) for approximately two to four hours every two weeks or per week (for about a year). The contact is personal and gives space to what is going on at that moment. As a buddy you offer a listening ear, you are involved and you give time and attention. Of course you are aware of the experience of being ill or lonely. There may also be a need to do things and you are alert to opportunities to expand and/or strengthen your client's living environment and social network. What does it get you? Many of our buddies indicate that they would like to become a buddy so they can do something for someone else. Ultimately, they indicate that it also brings them a lot: satisfaction, energy, new insights, wonderful experiences, the ability to put things into perspective, a new network or simply being grateful. Your qualities You have room for the other person's story and you have great empathy. Naturally, you are reliable and communicative and you are available for two to four hours every two weeks or per week. What do we offer? We offer a meaningful and valued use of time, a fun and educational (online) training and a mix of substantive and relaxed meetings. Guiding adventurous children's activities!

Weekly · 2 to 4 hours
Scouting Sint Jorisgroep 5

Are you looking for a fun volunteer organization that is also a leisure activity for you? We are looking for reinforcement for our youth association to lead our children's/youth activities! WHO WE ARE Do you like being outdoors? Do you have an affinity with children and youth? At our Scouting association in Scheveningen you can take up the challenge as a volunteer in a fun team! Our activities start at our group home, in the middle of Scheveningen. Close to the forest, beach, play park and dunes. This gives us many opportunities to do the activities outside in nature. In Scouting the emphasis is on playing together, being active outside and taking on challenges. This is also reflected in the activities we organize, which are completely different every week. That makes Scouting fun and varied, also for us as volunteers. Consider, for example: living Stratego in the forest, a dodgeball game in the dunes, building a raft on the water or roasting marshmallows over the campfire, it's all possible! WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO DO - You devise and organize activities for our youth members together in an enthusiastic leadership team and you also organize weekend and summer camps; - You guide our youth members in their personal development; - You participate in consultations with other volunteers. OUR AGE GROUPS Youth members are with us from the age of 5 and experience weekly adventures in different age groups: - Cubs are from 7 to 11 years old (meeting on: Saturday 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM or from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM) - Scouts are from 11 to 15 years old (meeting on: Saturday 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM or from 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM) - Explorers are from 15 to 18 years old (meeting on: Saturday from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM) WHY SCOUTING? - You are enthusiastic and involved; - You like being outside and have an affinity with children/young people; - You will have the opportunity to further develop yourself through: (free) training; - You make many new contacts and new friends; - You like to take on a challenge and also learn from other volunteers; - We have endless fun and appreciate your efforts; - You will be given space for your own input, ideas and talents. INTRODUCTION Are you over 17 years old and does this seem like a fun challenge? Send a message and we will contact you. We invite you for an introduction at our location and if you are matched, you are welcome to join our volunteer team. Help refugee children through play and exercise

Weekly · 3 to 5 hours
TeamUp

"What stays with me the most are those incredibly happy faces. That they look for that interaction with you, can throw out their energy and be a child for a while. It's so nice that you can be there for those children, even if it's just a a few hours a week. After TeamUp I go home with a satisfied feeling!". ✨ What are you going to do As a volunteer for TeamUp (a program of Save the Children, UNICEF Netherlands and War Child) you offer psychosocial support to refugee children through play and exercise. Through play, children learn to deal with emotions such as anger, fear and stress. You will be trained and supervised in advance and will work at a reception location near you. You are part of an enthusiastic team with other volunteers. At a fixed time during the week, you and your team will guide activities for children aged 6 to 18 years. These activities have a theme and purpose. The activities make children feel safe and protected, more connected to their peers and more optimistic. You also have a signaling role. You learn how to recognize worrying behavior and, if necessary, refer children to specialized care and guidance. ✅ This is you: • Experience in organizing activities for children. Or you have relevant work experience or completed training (or are still studying) in the field of pedagogy, education, social work, sports, games and/or exercise; • Available half a day during the week (3 to 5 hours), from approximately 3.30 pm (day and time varies per location); • Available for a longer period (at least a number of months or longer). Stability is essential for this vulnerable group of children; 🎉 This is what we offer: • A position to gain work experience in this field and to develop yourself further; • The chance to make a real difference in the lives of refugee children, you make an important contribution to their psychosocial well-being; • A place in an international, enthusiastic and professional volunteer team; • Training and follow-up training in facilitating the activities and working with this specific target group; • Counseling and stress management sessions; • Volunteer events; • Travel allowance; Do you recognize yourself in the description and do you think you fit in with our team? Comment below and we will contact you as soon as possible. Child safety is essential for TeamUp. TeamUp therefore does not accept any form of abuse. This subject is addressed in our recruitment and selection procedures. TeamUp is a joint program of Save the Children, UNICEF Netherlands and War Child. TeamUp is made possible in part by the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration (AMIF).
