Would you like to go for a bike ride with me?
Sought: We are looking for volunteers who want to regularly travel with a resident with our duo and/or wheelchair bicycle. What exactly is a duo and wheelchair bicycle? The wind in your hair and the sun on your face... we love cycling, do you? But what if that is no longer possible? This is daily practice for many of our residents. That is why CuraMare has special wheelchair and duo bicycles that can be used free of charge by family members, volunteers and colleagues. A duo bicycle is a bicycle where the driver and co-driver sit next to each other. The co-driver can pedal along (if desired). A wheelchair bicycle has a platform at the front on which a wheelchair can be secured. Because the bicycles work differently than a regular bicycle, you will receive good instructions before you hit the road. What are you going to do……….. - You regularly go cycling with a resident. You decide together with the resident where you will cycle. A tour through the polder or watching boats at the harbour... anything is possible! It is possible that you always cycle with the same resident, but if you like to go out with someone else, that is also possible. We would be happy to coordinate this with you. When……. - Monday morning in odd weeks; - Monday afternoon; - Thursday afternoon; - Friday; morning or afternoon. - Who are you…….. - You have an affinity with aging people with dementia and/or the parent developing person with physical limitations. - You respect the privacy of our residents. - Affinity with cycling and exercise; - You can independently carry out a small-scale activity; - You have a helpful, patient and calm character. - You are socially skilled...with a smile! Particularities: A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is required, the costs will be reimbursed by CuraMare. For registration or questions: Volunteer Coordinator; Claudia
