In the first year of secondary school, our students start working on their portfolio, they learn to use the programs on the computer and the textbook, the first steps in the Dutch language are taken and they receive an explanation about our learning system. As a volunteer, you are completely involved in the initial phase of the school period. The students are super motivated and really enjoy getting to know the Netherlands and the Dutch language. You can help in a very practical way during the lessons, so we ask you to be a real doer. Experience in education is not necessary. It is important that you can provide coaching, be patient and that you are willing to follow the teacher's instructions. This determines the teaching method. Of course you speak excellent Dutch. The Friends of Lunet consists of a group of people who care about Lunet's clients and want to make people's lives just a little bit better. The Friends depend on donations. This money is used to honor client requests. For example, a duo bicycle, creating a shared garden or setting up a memorial corner. The “Friends of Lunet” foundation is looking for general board members. As a general board member, you attend board meetings in Eindhoven or online (on average 10 times a year) and you decide together with the other board members about the use of resources. As a TOMaatje you contribute to the future of children with a refugee background by helping them with their schoolwork. Volunteers at Open Embassy support newcomer families in finding their way in the Dutch education system. Make an impact with this valuable volunteer work and help online or physically with primary or secondary school subjects for 1 to 2 hours per week. What are you going to do: As a TOMaatje you help a child/young person (7-18 years) from a newcomer family when education is not going well. You offer support in an accessible way with doing homework, practicing the Dutch language and other difficult school subjects. Involving parents in their children's school work also ensures that you take on the role of mentor and buddy. You agree when it suits you, the child/young person and the parents best. This is done in consultation. The guidance takes place online, physically at your or your family's home, or at a public location such as a library. The Stable Friends Foundation offers horse riding and daytime activities for people with disabilities. Since 2023 we have had our own accommodation on the Volmolenweg in Veldhoven. We are looking for a volunteer who enjoys helping in and around the stables. Who likes to be physically active, is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and get dirty, enjoys working outdoors and enjoys a pleasant working environment. You can determine your own pace and days/times are negotiable. The work consists of mucking out stables/paddocks, sweeping, spreading the stables, filling hay nets and, if necessary,... putting horses inside/outside.

Every working day from 10:00 to 16:00, 7 to 8 clients work in the restaurant under the supervision of 2 colleagues (1 supervisor and 1 employee of the restaurant) from Severinus. The peak in terms of crowds is during lunch, from 11:30 to 13:30. The very enthusiastic and experienced team is looking for a volunteer who can help clients prepare cold dishes (sandwiches and salads) and who can support clients in carrying out their tasks (host/hostess, runner (serving the dishes and setting the tables), washing up and other common tasks).
