Within Severinus, clients dance in groups every week in the Berkt district of Veldhoven. Consider dancing in a circle or with a partner. Every first and third Tuesday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the studio of Severinus Live, Platanenlaan 28, Veldhoven, a live television program is made by an employee, volunteer and clients. The very enthusiastic and experienced team is looking for volunteers who can help them with the technical care of the Severinus Live television broadcasts that are broadcast twice a month via a live stream. The volunteers manage the technology required for the television broadcast, such as switching between the presenter, film, music and guests. We are working with the streaming program OBS Studio. We ask our volunteers to have PC experience, an interest in technology and the format of the program (playing request pictures, making small talk) and we like it if you are proactive and have some affinity with the target group. • Making music together, walking, drinking coffee • Wednesday afternoon from 1.30 pm • We are looking for a musical, patient and sociable volunteer We are looking for a volunteer who wants to make music together with Annemiek, take a walk with the wheelchair, have a drink or give her a nice hour! A Wednesday afternoon from 1.30 pm would suit Annemiek best. We will agree together how often you want to do this based on your wishes and availability. Annemiek is a 69 year old lady. She is a very sweet woman, she is very social and likes to have a chat with everyone. She likes it when someone comes especially for her, she can demand that attention. It is important that the volunteer clearly indicates her boundaries otherwise Annemiek can show a certain degree of behavior, for example making noises or hitting herself. This is mainly when things do not go as she had in mind or are a bit more difficult. But can also happen, for example, when something is different than she had in mind or when she has to step over a threshold. Of course, the management will also provide guidance and explanations about this. She can walk short distances in the house herself, outside she uses a wheelchair. She has epilepsy but has been seizure-free for 20 years. You will receive clear instructions from the management if you go outside with Annemiek. And if you only want to stay in the house with Annemiek, that is of course also perfectly fine! We are looking for a volunteer who is musical and enjoys socializing. The very enthusiastic and experienced team of volunteers is looking for someone who can help them to keep the shuffleboard on track. You help to set up the shuffleboard equipment, count the points, have a chat and pour a cup of coffee/tea. Will you also come and shuffleboard with us? Every working day from 10:00 to 16:00, 7 to 8 clients work in the restaurant under the supervision of 2 colleagues (1 supervisor and 1 employee of the restaurant) from Severinus. The peak in terms of crowds is during lunch, from 11:30 to 13:30. Our client is a sweet 39 year old woman with a mild intellectual disability. She lives independently in Eindhoven with her 3 cats that she loves. She is very creative, she enjoys drawing, painting and she is also practicing to learn to sew. She would enjoy doing make-up together, painting nails and going out together (on a terrace or shopping). You go from the house (which is within walking distance of the swimming pool) with Nico in the wheelchair to the swimming pool. Nico would like to swim on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:15 am. The management of the house can come along to help Nico change clothes, if you want or are able to do this yourself, this would be an advantage, add about an hour and a half in total. Nico really likes it when you go into the water with him. Nico likes to play in the water. So it's important that you don't mind going home with wet hair! There are separate changing rooms in the changing room for you as a volunteer. Nico is a 37-year-old man with a severe intellectual disability. There is tetraplegia (paralysis of the limbs), which means Nico cannot walk independently. With a Kevo and light support from a supervisor, Nico can walk short distances. Nico has epilepsy, which is well controlled. He occasionally has barely noticeable absences. He is happy with guidance that understands him and guides him in the right way. He likes a joke and a romp. Nico finds it very important to be understood when he wants to make something clear. He has certain topics of conversation that are important to him. Karin really enjoys a face mask, a foot bath or painting her nails. Karin is a 58-year-old woman with a moderate to severe intellectual disability. In addition, she is familiar with autistic characteristics and complex behavior. She functions at a preschooler level. Karin can do many things herself, but is always dependent on adult supervision. Her day is clarified through the use of pictograms. Karin can often be found in her room, this is her safe place. She can eat and drink independently. She is quickly overestimated because of her speech. She is very fit and can talk well. She likes to go for walks, watches Disney films and she likes to dance to music by K3 and the Dirk Scheele band. With a strong arm, she can make long strides to her favorite stores, such as Action, Trekpleister or Kruidvat. There she really enjoys looking at plasters. She also likes to go out for a day at an amusement park or to the disco at Severinus. Would you rather not go outside with Bo Sanne? That's also possible, she enjoys watching movies and listening to music in her room. Looking at photos is also a favorite there. Preferably weekly on Tuesday morning, but we will coordinate this together based on your wishes and availability. Theo is a 73-year-old man with an intellectual disability. He cannot speak, he expresses himself through sounds. You can hear from the intonation whether he likes something or not. He also uses gestures to make things clear. For example, shaking his head no if he doesn't want something or clapping his hands if he likes something. If you ask him something, his first reaction is often no, but if you ask him again, he often wants to. If you insist too much, he can sometimes get irritated. When you meet Theo, the management can give you tips on how to deal with this. Theo understands spoken sentences, for example if you ask him at the table what he wants on his bread, he can point to the topping. If he does not understand something, questions are clarified with objects/gestures or by taking him to what you want from him. He eats and drinks independently. Theo likes to help with household chores such as setting the table and loading and unloading the dishwasher. He also likes to participate in activities outside and he likes to watch television and enjoys the compliments he receives when he has done something (well). • Be creative with paper pulp, making cards or mosaics together with a client • Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 09:30 to 16:00 or part of the day, we will coordinate the frequency and times based on your wishes and availability • We are looking for a patient, creative volunteer who is not afraid to get dirty. Some affinity with the target group is desirable De Kei is a day activity centre of Severinus in the Borghoutspark district in Veldhoven (Zeelst). In De Kei there are 5 working groups of different nature with varied activities and composition of clients. Participants work a different number of half days. We are looking for a volunteer for Ruimte 5 on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 09:30 to 16:00, or for part of these days. We will coordinate the frequency and times based on your wishes and availability. Within room 5, clients work who consciously choose to be creative and who like to achieve good results with this and also want to develop in learning new skills. It is a working group where pulp is made from paper in a traditional way and the processing of pulp into, for example, a vase. Making other articles can be split up into small sub-processes. In addition to making pulp from paper, cards are also made and mosaics are made. Made articles are sold at the Severinus shop Pronk in the City Center. Other activities that are done are in line with the needs of the client, such as sorting work, making puzzles. The very enthusiastic and experienced team is looking for a volunteer who can help them with the 1-on-1 learning of an activity mentioned above. The very enthusiastic and experienced team of volunteers is looking for a volunteer who can help them to keep the darts on track every week. During the darts season (September to May) there is competition in various forms and at the end it is festively concluded. During the darts evenings you help with scoring, give tips where necessary, have a nice chat, take care of the practicalities and maintain a nice atmosphere. A drink is provided. The preference is for 2 x per month in the evenings, on a Friday afternoon or in the weekend (morning or evening), we will agree on the times and frequency together based on your wishes and availability. Vincent is a young man of 19 years old. He is very cheerful and social. He likes everything that has to do with conviviality. He also really likes active things to do, such as walking and cycling. He absolutely loves going out for a drink and being among people. Vincent has 22Q11 syndrome. He can quickly and violently change emotions. There is also verbal aggression and very occasionally physical aggression, although this is not frequent or common behavior. We are looking for a volunteer who is empathetic, patient, cheerful and social. In communication, he or she must be clear (short and concise). Will you be our new colleague volunteer? EigenWeijzer, the start-up center for living with and after cancer in Bladel, is looking for volunteers for the position of hostess or host. Since mid-October we have been open on Monday and Friday afternoons, but in the near future we want to open more drop-in hours during the day or in the evening. Do you want to mean something to our center and our guests? Then we would like to get in touch with you to discuss the possibilities. What will you do? As a hostess or host, you receive our guests. You provide a warm welcome. You offer a listening ear during a cup of coffee or tea and talk together. You look at what a guest needs. For example, is there a need for a personal conversation, information or is someone looking for relaxation? You look at how you can help someone and tell them about the possibilities of our center. You also answer the phone, help with activities and with (light) household tasks. Who are you? You have an open attitude, empathy and good communication skills. You are a good listener and are involved. You make guests feel that they are not alone. You are independent, can work well together and want to develop yourself. You are available for at least one half day per week. It is not necessary to know from your own experience what it means to be confronted with cancer. What do you get out of the job? You work in a nice team (always with a different host or hostess) and enjoy the many social contacts. There are many pleasant, but sometimes also difficult moments. Your attention, commitment and support are worth gold. You will receive IPSO basic training and additional training, so that you can get started expertly and with confidence.
