Are you 55+ and do you want to babysit a dog?

Weekly · 4 to 16 hours
Stichting OOPOEH

Do you love dogs, do you like to walk and does a four-legged friend in your neighborhood make you happy? But don't you want to start a dog yourself (anymore)? Through the OOPOEH Foundation you (55 and over) can look after a sweet dog. How much time you want to spend on this is completely your own choice. Most of our babysitters opt for 1 or 2 days or half days per week. But less or more often is also possible. JOB DESCRIPTION Have you always had dogs, but you don't want or can't start them yourself? Or do you like to walk but do you find it more fun to do it with a dog? You can register as a pet sitter for a dog in your neighborhood via the OOPOEH Foundation. Babysitting is optional: you babysit when it suits you; in your online profile you can indicate exactly how often and when you are available, and what kind of dog you would like to look after. The dog will be brought to you by the owner and picked up later in the day. You let the dog out from your own home. WHAT KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS ARE NEEDED? Experience with dogs is a plus but not required. WHAT DO YOU GET IN RETURN? A wagging tail, unconditional love from a dog, a nice contact with the owner of the dog and countless pleasant chats on the street. You can also participate for free in the monthly outings that the OOPOEH Foundation organizes for all OOPOEHs through which you meet other dog lovers (aged 55 or older). WHAT IS THE ADDED VALUE OF THIS VOLUNTEER WORK? A babysitting dog is cozy and healthy. You are moving more. You meet more people in the area. A babysitting dog offers cosiness at home: You feel less alone. You help a local resident with the care of his / her dog so that he / she has his hands free for a while. And you give the dog all the attention he/she deserves. The OOPOEH Foundation also organizes fun monthly outings for the OOPOEHs in which you can participate free of charge. WORKING HOURS N/A You watch when it suits you. HOW DO YOU QUALIFY? Get in touch with the contact person.

Friendly assistant at Showdown

Once or weekly · 2 to 3 hours
Gehandicapten vereniging de Sleutels

The Showdown department of GSV De Sleutels urgently needs someone on Friday evenings who wants to help with odd jobs such as setting up the tables. Setting up tables at the beginning, possibly supervising players, offering a pleasant atmosphere. If you are also interested in sports, want to learn the Showdown rules and want to learn to whistle, there is even an opportunity to be trained as a referee. If you know someone for whom Showdown could be a fun sport (a tennis player, for example, who is no longer as fast on his feet, or whose eyesight is slowly deteriorating), then by all means bring them along. That way you kill two birds with one stone. In principle, training takes place every evening as much as possible. If you cannot make it every Friday evening, but can participate in a schedule, you are of course also very welcome. GSV De Sleutels offers people who have difficulty doing so elsewhere the opportunity to exercise and play sports. That gives an extra dimension to your contribution as a volunteer. Desired skills You do not have to be sporty yourself. Conviviality and friendliness are your most important qualities. Most players are visually impaired. Experience shows that you do not need to have 'experience' with this in advance. Are you nervous about this? No problem: you will notice that you will quickly master it. A valuable experience!
