Clothing collection for Hungary and Romania

MeHoRo

MeHoRo offers assistance from the village of Meerkerk to various projects in Hungary and Romania. Many volunteers from the three local churches carry out numerous activities for this. These activities include collecting clothing, furniture, bicycles, computers and aids for the elderly. After collection, goods are repaired and prepared for transport if necessary. These goods are transported from Meerkerk to various projects in Hungary and Romania. There the goods are sold and/or distributed. The income is used for diaconal activities within the ecclesiastical congregations in Hungary and Romania. The name of the foundation originated from the first two letters of Meerkerk, Hungary and Romania. On the first Saturday of the month (with the exception of the summer holidays) (used) clothing is collected. Clothing has always been an important part of the relief effort. Many people then bring their (excess) clothing to the MeHoRo warehouse in Meerkerk. The warehouse is open from 9.30am – 11.30am. Please note that these are clean, washed clothing without holes or tears. After collection, it is very busy there on Wednesday afternoons. About 20 ladies then sort out the clothes and pack them in boxes. There is also a team of men who carry out the work. What we are tired of here will be given a new destination there! Our foundation has unpaid board members, in addition there is a group of volunteers who support with various tasks. Do you enjoy supporting a family with growing children? Then Home-Start might be something for you. We work in Gorinchem and Vijfheerenlanden and can use volunteers. You can get started with us quickly! Home-Start: As a volunteer at Home-Start, you support families with everyday parenting problems. Based on your experience with parenting, you offer support. A listening ear. Trust. Tips about practical matters for your family. Such as doing something fun with the children, advice about the administration or choosing fun children's books together in the library. As a volunteer, you can also help make contact with other parents, to exchange experiences with them or perhaps to build new friendships. Guidance: You will be well guided by Home-Start. You will receive training. The coordinator will guide you through the support process. There are theme meetings. During follow-up meetings, you will exchange experiences with the other volunteers. Groene Weelde

We are looking for volunteers for the Groene Weelde Nature and Sustainability Center who enjoy helping with nature education lessons. We give science and technology lessons at primary schools, we deliver and collect teaching boxes and we support teachers in the classroom. We also make teaching materials ourselves, we pack teaching boxes and we give outdoor lessons at locations. We search: - volunteers who help create and maintain teaching materials. - volunteers who bring teaching boxes to schools and pick them up again on Fridays. - volunteers who enjoy working with children and want to give our ready-made lessons, outside in nature and also in the classroom. A Certificate of Good Conduct is mandatory if you work with children. You are in possession of a driver's license and a car if you want to transport. Skills: You think along, can be deployed flexibly, have a heart for nature, sustainability, biodiversity, you keep agreements and you have good communication skills. We offer: A short course: how a lesson works, how our education works and how to approach it conveniently. We provide a travel allowance and you are part of an enthusiastic team. A good command of the Dutch language is important for everyone. To provide good services, the AanZet Library cannot do without the support of volunteers. That is why we are looking for enthusiastic language coaches for various locations in the municipality of Molenlanden. Day, time and location in consultation. What are you going to do? As a language coach, you help a foreign resident by practicing speaking and listening to Dutch every week. You agree with the participant on a day and time when you will meet in the library or online. The guidance lasts 6 months. As a Language Coach you have the choice to guide someone 1-on-1 or to guide a group. what do you get from us? As a volunteer at the AanZet Library, you have the opportunity to become a member of the Library for free! You will receive basic training from us before you start working as a Language Coach or if you are already active (depending on the start date of the next training). In addition, you can use books and other supporting (teaching) materials from the Library and we regularly offer in-depth workshops. A teacher of Dutch as a second language is there to support you where necessary. But you get the most from the participant you work with: special conversations and experiences and the satisfaction of helping someone further. What do we ask of you? You enjoy working with the Dutch language and practicing speaking Dutch. You are interested in other people and their background and you have the necessary dose of creativity and patience. You are available for a minimum period of 6 months. A Declaration on Behavior (VOG) is required for this position. We arrange the application and there are no costs involved.
