About Anne-Marie

Good day, I am a social and cultural worker at Surplus. Government policy is aimed at allowing people to live independently for longer. Thanks to good care and prosperity and with the help of practical support such as meal provision, handyman service, volunteer elderly advisors, etc., this often works. We help you maintain control for as long as possible and only provide you with ideas by informing you about the possibilities available in the municipality of Altena. You remain responsible. Our goal is a society in which everyone feels included. Looking after each other, doing something for someone else, we know how a small gesture can make a big difference. Yours sincerely, Anne-Marie van der Vliet

Would you like to visit this girl every week to play a game? She lives in Oosterhout with her mother. Unfortunately, she has already experienced a lot in the medical field in her young life. Fortunately, this is now stable. She does need a lot of proximity because of her autism. But be careful, don't underestimate this lady, she can easily beat you with a game of Scrabble! Mother has a small network in the area and due to informal care tasks and her vulnerable health, it all gets a bit much sometimes. It would be a great help for mother if someone came by every week to play a game with her daughter so that mother can do some household chores in the meantime. The support was requested at mother and daughter's home, because daughter requires a lot of proximity and likes to be in her familiar environment. But this lady is a very nice company to have around you, she chats away and is very intelligent. If you are interested, we will see together which day or time suits them best. Are you the foster parent who can lend them a helping hand? Whether you are a parent yourself or not, a grandparent or just want to do something for someone else, you are welcome. For more information, please contact Marije van Leeuwen, Support Parent Coordinator Oosterhout at Surplus Welzijn.

According to her mother, this girl has a sense of humor from a very young age. At 1.5 years old, she knows how to make others laugh very quickly. She herself is also very cheerful and often in a good mood. She loves music, reading books and she also likes to play with cars. Can this cheerful girl come and play at your house for a few hours every week? She lives with her brother, sister and mother in Oosterhout. Her mother is going through a difficult time and her brother needs some extra attention. By occasionally taking care of this girl for a few hours, mother has her hands free to recharge. It does not matter to the family which day you are available as a support parent, it can be a weekday morning or afternoon, for example. Are you the support parent who can lend them a helping hand? Whether you are a parent yourself or not, a grandparent or just want to do something for someone else, you are welcome.

We are looking for a foster parent for a 7-year-old boy who likes to experience adventures. This boy wants to discover the world, but sometimes finds new things exciting. He likes it when you give him the time and trust to discover the world. The tension will subside by itself when he gets a clear explanation/image of what is going to happen. Sometimes he just needs that loving push in the right direction. He sometimes finds it difficult to deal with new situations, it is important that you work according to a structure and that you are clear in your communication. When this does not happen, he finds it a bit exciting and then he withdraws. But with a little patience, a calm and stimulating attitude, you will automatically gain the trust of this cheerful boy. He lives with his father and mother in the center of Oosterhout. Due to various circumstances, it is sometimes a bit too much for his parents, it would be very helpful if he could go somewhere else once a week for a few hours, so that his parents have some time to recharge. Help is needed on Monday afternoon (14:30 to 16:30), Wednesday afternoon (12:30 to 16:30) or Friday afternoon (14:30 to 16:30). Are you the foster parent who can lend them a helping hand? Whether you are a parent yourself or not, a grandparent or just want to do something for someone else, you are welcome. We are looking for a warm and sweet support parent for a cheerful 4-year-old girl. She doesn't care what activities you are going to do, because she likes almost everything! Crafts, playing outside or a game, you can make her happy with many things. However, she always has to wait and see first, and she is a bit shy at first, but with a little patience, she will soon come out. She has been living with her mother in Oosterhout for a few years. Every now and then she also goes to stay with her father for a weekend, who unfortunately lives a bit further away. As a single mother, it can sometimes be quite hard, combining work and caring for her daughter with little network in the area. It would be nice for mother to be able to recharge her batteries every now and then. Do you have some time to spare on Friday morning, afternoon or Saturday afternoon? Then we would like to get in touch with you. Are you the support parent who can lend them a helping hand? Whether you are a parent yourself or not, a grandparent or just want to do something for someone else, you are welcome. Do you have any questions? Feel free to contact me without obligation.

In the municipality of Altena we collect all kinds of textiles through our textile containers. That is more than 250,000 kg per year! Various teams are busy sorting, pricing and bringing the textiles into the store. We are a non-profit foundation with ANBI status. Reuse is so incredibly important! The production of new products is very harmful to our environment. It is great for our customers to be able to buy things for relatively little money. And that is also a real experience for us! Our thrift store and specific location are known for their atmosphere; almost a museum! The work is certainly not heavy and can be done standing or sitting. It is mainly a pleasant and social event: from young to old, everyone is welcome. There is a volunteer allowance of €1.00 per hour, a travel allowance of €0.23 per km and you can shop with us with a 30% discount.🥳 Please feel free to drop by...

Koningin Sophia-Vereeniging tot Bescherming van Dieren
Do you have a social, obedient and child-friendly dog and would you like to be in front of a class?! Then volunteering for the Sophia SnuffelCollege might be something for you! Together with your dog, you will visit the lowest groups of primary schools in your area. You will teach the children how to safely interact with dogs. The aim of the so-called SnuffelCollege is to reduce the number of biting incidents in children and to eliminate any fear of dogs. The Sophia SnuffelCollege is a project of the Koningin Sophia-Vereeniging tot Bescherming van Dieren. Activities: The Sophia SnuffelCollege consists of three weekly lessons of 30 to 45 minutes. In the first lesson, you introduce the children to a hand puppet. During the second and third lesson, your dog comes into the classroom and the theory is put into practice. How can you tell if a dog is angry or sad? When can you pet a dog and when is it better to leave it alone? You will playfully explain the most important rules for dealing with dogs. You will also let the children practice petting, brushing and giving treats. Afterwards, everyone will receive a SnuffelDiploma and a workbook with games and information for the parents. What do we expect from you? • You are good at dealing with children and enjoy it; • You have a solid knowledge of dog behavior; • You are available at least 9 half days per year during school hours; • You are representative of the association and support our goals; • You have your own transportation to visit schools with the dog; • You are willing to approach schools in your area yourself. What do we expect from your dog? • He/she is at least 18 months and at most 8 years old; • He/she has followed a basic course at a dog school (this is not the puppy course, but the obedience training that follows); • He/she is covered by the owner's liability insurance (AVP); • He/she is stress-resistant and enjoys being with children. If you and your dog meet the expectations, we would like to see your application! Register as a SnuffelVolunteer! To guarantee the safety of the children, every SnuffelDog takes the Sophia SnuffelCollege Dog Behavior Test. You can fill out a questionnaire via [website hidden] and send it to [email address hidden]. If you and your dog seem suitable for the project, we would like to invite you to the Sophia SnuffelCollege Dog Behavior Test! "It is fantastic to be a sniffing volunteer! You can really teach children something through the interaction with your dog. The collaboration with your own dog makes it the ideal volunteer work for me and you also contribute to our society. In short, volunteer work that is satisfying!" – Ilja Moll "If there is only one child who is not bitten by a dog, then my years of dedication to the Sophia SnuffelCollege will have paid off." – Dorette Stöveken
