For our project Spel aan Huis we are looking for a play coach volunteer. As a play coach, you will visit families with a refugee or migration background. With a bag of toys and a book, you will visit a family once a week with a question in the area of play, language and development. Together with the parent, you will discover how the child (up to 7 years old) learns and how you and the parent can help with this. Afterwards, you will write a short report with your findings. After an agreed number of weeks, the parent and child can continue and they will have been sufficiently helped. As a play coach volunteer, you offer language and development stimulation to children up to 7 years old and their parents through play. You do this at the families' homes, for children with a threatening (language) developmental delay or parents with a parenting question. Do you have: - Parenting experience, a pedagogical background, - Are you creative with play? - Can you connect well with the needs of a child, - Interested in other cultures? - Have a day a week to support a family? - Maybe you are the play coach who will strengthen our team. The lady is 95 years old and mentally very vital but has difficulty walking. She would like to take a short walk with someone twice a week. She needs help getting her walker down as there are small steps in front of her front door. The walk really only has to be very short, think 15 minutes.
In the De Wereld community center, volunteers prepare a meal for a group of 20 visitors every Monday. Every month a new menu is put together for which people can register. The cooking group currently consists of three permanent volunteers, but sometimes others also join. We would love it if we had an extra volunteer who would like to help us cook and eat. Every Monday, a meal is offered to residents of the neighborhood in the Huis van de Wijk 't Trionk. Participants can choose to eat at the community center or to pick up the meal. For this activity, we are looking for a (hobby) chef who would like to come and cook for the neighborhood every Monday. The work starts at 9:00 with grocery shopping. This is done based on a list of participants that is managed by the professional. After this, the meal is prepared in our kitchen. The meal can be picked up or eaten between 12:00 and 13:00. We have a kitchen with all the necessities to prepare a good meal, but if something is missing, this is negotiable. The lady in question unfortunately does not have enough energy to do this independently due to her physical limitations. In order to relieve her partner (he already does so much!), we are looking for a volunteer for this fun job! It involves sorting out her wardrobe (what can go and what can stay?) and sorting hobby items. The lady is also able to help herself, although this is no longer than fifteen minutes, after which she has to take a break again. For a small walking and cycling foundation we are looking for volunteers who want to draw OpenStreetMap around the routes that we walk and cycle. You can also make maps later. You do not need a specific background to draw, but you do need program knowledge to make maps. We ensure that you have sufficient knowledge to do everything properly. Draw, or the map makers group, meets on Tuesday mornings to discuss the work and make an action plan together. Together we deliver a good product for walkers and cyclists and of course everyone who uses the maps on the internet. For residential care center Nieuw Overbos we are looking for volunteers who want to help supervise a living room project/meeting group in one of our beautiful living rooms. It concerns people with dementia who still need a good conversation and suitable activities. These residents live in different departments in Nieuw Overbos and we would like to bring them into contact with each other in one place in the house because they share this need. Numbers and populations of amphibians are under great pressure due to various causes, including the increase in traffic intensity. The numbers have decreased by 60% since 2000. The efforts of volunteers contribute significantly to the continued existence of local populations of toads, frogs and salamanders. In the Kennemerland region, more than 300 volunteers are active in 16 toad working groups at 37 different amphibian migration locations. Approximately 20,000 toads, frogs and salamanders are safely transferred each year. The migration usually takes place between early February and mid-April. In order to contribute as a volunteer, a fixed time in the week (more is also possible) is preferred. At the Elswout-Koningshof toad working group, the activity consists of transferring amphibians from buckets along guides in the morning. If you are interested, please state: Elswout-Koningshof location. More toad working groups are active within the boundaries of the municipality. If you prefer Bleek en Berg, Duin en Daal, Brouwerskolk, Alverna, Elswout-Koningshof or Aerdenhout, please indicate this when interested. Activities take place there in the evening and/or morning.
