Raising children is quite a job. Sometimes as a parent you can use some help with this. Do you have time and space to support a family? Then register as a volunteer support parent. Whether you are available for 3 hours or 24 hours, all help is welcome! Short explanation Support parents are adult volunteers (with or without children, young or old, single or together) who provide a hospitable home to a child one or two half-days a week. In this way they provide families with support. Your help as a support parent helps prevent problems in families from arising or worsening. You offer a child a familiar place where they are welcome and can be a child. This gives parents space to catch their breath and it is nice to experience how you can share the care of children together. We ask • Age of at least 21 years (preferably with some life experience); • Wanting and being able to offer a child a hospitable home in accordance with agreements made; • Being able to offer a child peace and regularity and focusing on stimulating the child's development; • Being able to reflect on one's own behavior; • Have a Certificate of Good Conduct (no costs involved) We offer • Introductory meeting (drafting a profile); • Training to gain tips and experiences; • Support and guidance from the support parent coordinator; • A volunteer agreement; • Third party liability and accident insurance during the work; Location: • Submunicipality of Feijenoord When • Days and times in consultation Knowing more? The seesaw season is officially open: let's seesaw, Netherlands, let's seesaw! From March 21 to October 31, all across the Netherlands, we're embarking on the NK Tegelwippen (National Tile Tipping Championship). Everyone can join in by swapping tiles for greenery in their front, back, or facade gardens. That includes you! Let's work together to make the Netherlands a greener place. By replacing tiles with grass, flowerbeds, trees, and facade gardens, we'll make our country more resilient to climate change, more hospitable to insects and animals, cooler on scorching days, and much more beautiful! Bart

Good morning I live in Rotterdam Spangen and experience the pain and limitations of Rheumatism every day. Unfortunately I can no longer do things like I could 1 year ago. Feeding cats, going to the toilet, shopping and cycling is a battle that I first have to overcome by reducing pain. Rheumatism patients will certainly know this. I would like to get in touch with these people to get advice and information/support. My number is 15697736. Thank you very much Bart

Zwerfie Rotterdam

At the GoedGoed Doorgeefwinkel in the Bospolder-Tussendijken district, residents can hand in and take good stuff with them. Zwerfie Rotterdam wants to prevent good goods from ending up on the street or in the waste container and being destroyed with the shop. Are you looking for volunteer work? Register now for an introductory meeting! You can read more about GoedGoed on the Zwerfie Rotterdam website. Do you like dealing with people and are you service-oriented? Do you have an eye for detail and can you quickly and accurately assess the reusability of offered products? Do you like to make/keep the shop nicely decorated, do you have an eye for aesthetics and can you work in the shop at least one day a week? Do you have a good command of Dutch and/or English at a conversational level? Then we are looking for you! You contribute to reuse and have a social function for visitors. We want to be open at least during market days on Thursday and Saturday. This is what we have to offer you: a nice team and meaningful volunteer work. During your shift, you can give goods that you can use a longer life, just like the visitors! You also have the opportunity to help with the programming of activities in the pass-through shop. Think of organizing movie nights or lectures. In short, we offer you a varied, social and relevant volunteer position with self-development opportunities and a lot of freedom! Extra information: the pass-through shop is unfortunately not easily accessible for people in a wheelchair or mobility scooter.

DUO for a JOB

DUO for a JOB is a Rotterdam foundation that connects young people with a migration background (mentees) to volunteer 50-plussers (mentors). Together they work together for six months (approximately 2 hours per week) as DUO to actively take steps towards a job, internship or training for the young person. With this intergenerational and intercultural mentoring program, DUO for a JOB wants to: 1) reduce inequality in access to the labor market, 2) better appreciate and use the knowledge and experience of 50-plussers, and 3) bring people into contact who would not normally meet each other in daily life. Thanks to the customized guidance provided by the mentors and the foundation, the mentees gain more self-confidence, become more independent and know better which tools they can use in their search for work or training. As a result, 7 out of 10 mentees find a sustainable job, training or internship that suits them. For mentors, DUO for a JOB offers a substantive training program, coaching experience and an enriching social experience. This is experienced so positively that 8 out of 10 mentors want to continue with a second mentee after six months. Want to know more?
