Do you want to do girly things with Karin?
• Do girly things together, play a game, cycle or walk!
• We coordinate days and frequency together based on your wishes and availability
• We are looking for a volunteer who is confident, can keep the peace and who also has some affinity with the target group
We are looking for a volunteer who would like to play a game with Karin once a month, after 6 p.m., cycle together, walk or just play together! Karin really enjoys a face mask, a foot bath or painting her nails.
Karin is a 58-year-old woman with a moderate to severe intellectual disability. In addition, she is familiar with autistic characteristics and complex behavior. She functions at a preschooler level.
Karin can do many things herself, but is always dependent on adult supervision. Her day is clarified through the use of pictograms. Karin can often be found in her room, this is her safe place. She can eat and drink independently. If Karin finds a situation exciting, she can sometimes react somewhat unpredictably. When walking/cycling, the volunteer must be alert to the fact that Karin is very afraid of all dogs. When you meet Karin and her guidance, we will discuss in detail how to act.
We are looking for a volunteer who stands firmly in his/her shoes and who, in situations when things get difficult, can keep the calm when Karin finds it exciting. That the volunteer looks at what Karin wants or needs at that moment.
Please let us know if you are the volunteer for Karin, and we will meet you, without obligation, over a cup of coffee! For more information, please contact Miriam, volunteer coordinator, Severinus
