You also register your activities, participate in an (online) work meeting, contribute to organizing intervision and other meetings. Maatjes Apeldoorn is a collaboration between De Kap and Stimenz. Maatjes Apeldoorn links a buddy (volunteer) to a participant who needs a buddy at certain points in life. The buddy contact lasts a maximum of one year and is aimed at personal development. What are you going to do? • Together with a participant who is less active, you will exercise 1 to 2 hours per week • This could be an overweight participant, a physical or mental disability or someone who needs your help to get moving • For example, you go for a walk, run, cycle, swim or go to the gym together • You help the other person to become healthier and fitter

Support a father or mother!

Raising children is fun, but not always easy, especially when a lot of things are happening in your life at the same time. Then the bucket can become full. In such a case, it can be nice to be able to talk to someone about your upbringing, to vent, share your concerns or go out alone or with the children. Volunteers from Home-Start provide such support. Home-Start is a program that offers support, practical help and friendship through volunteers to expectant parents and parents with children aged from -0 to 17 years. The families themselves indicate in which areas they would like more support: their questions are central. Home-Start volunteers provide support, a listening ear and practical help. Guidance and training As a Home-Start Apeldoorn volunteer you will be well prepared and guided. We do this through starter modules, theme meetings, mutual exchange and relaxation, and fun moments. A carer sometimes wants to do something for himself. This is often only possible if there is someone who temporarily takes over the tasks of the informal carer. Are you flexible and do you want to use your time and attention for someone else? Sign up for our flex pool! What are you going to do? As a flex pool volunteer, you temporarily take over the informal care tasks, so that the informal caregiver can take a break. It's about the daily things, such as shopping, helping with meals, or watering the plants. But also just have a chat, keep company and drink a cup of coffee or take a walk together. The requests for help vary widely. Of course you will be linked to a person requesting help based on mutual wishes and preferences. When are flexible volunteers used? This can be both during the day and in the evening, during the week or at the weekend. You indicate yourself on which days and parts of the day you are available on an on-call basis. You are not alone! As a volunteer you work together with the social network of the informal carer and his/her loved one. Sometimes a home care organization or other professional assistance is also involved in the care. Depending on the duration, several volunteers are deployed and a backup is always arranged. As a volunteer, you do not perform medical procedures or other tasks that are part of professional assistance. De Reiskoffer

You probably know them, the vans that transport students every day to their school for special education. A wonderful solution, but it can often be done differently. That is why the Travel Together with... project starts from 'De Reiskoffer', where these students learn to go to school independently. In order for students to travel independently, they must learn the route to school. This can be done by bicycle or by public transport. For this learning process, we are looking for volunteers who want to accompany these children to school. We are looking for volunteers from various municipalities who want to participate in the 'De Reiskoffer' project for the 'Travel Together With' part to guide these children. Without guidance, these children remain dependent on special transport. With your help, they will soon be able to go to school on their own and that will do something to them. The children learn to live life independently, becoming more independent and gaining more self-confidence. Moreover, it is something that the students themselves benefit from throughout their lives. In our textile studio, high-quality clothing, bags and other textile products are made on request and for our own line. For our textile studio, we are looking for an experienced work supervisor who specializes in making and remaking clothing. On Wednesday and Friday mornings, there is a group of 6 people who want to learn basic skills and receive an hour of Dutch lessons at our location. So if you are good with needle and thread, have demonstrable work experience, can guide people with a (currently) distance to the labor market, then you are very welcome to join us! Our volunteers receive a volunteer allowance, a discount card after 2 months and a Christmas package.

Even having a cup of coffee, watching the trains or a car ride. Ali enjoys every moment together! Who is Ali? Ali is an 80-year-old woman with a severe intellectual disability. She lives in a residential group at the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo where she receives 24-hour care. Her developmental age is around 1.5 years. She can say a few words and understands simple instructions. She needs a lot of structure and clarity, but also closeness and security. Due to her age, she is retired and has no daytime activities. She enjoys having a cup of coffee somewhere, taking a car ride, watching the trains or another fun outing. She gets a smile on her face when she hears the railway crossing bells from the garden. Every now and then she goes on the train, but that doesn't happen very often. Her supervisors are happy to tell her what else she likes. Unfortunately, Ali is not always relaxed and happy. Sometimes she can react aggressively towards herself and others due to tension, she can then hit. Her supervisors will of course give you tools to deal with this. It is no reason to stop going out with her, because she can enjoy herself so much. What is Ali asking? We are looking for a volunteer who will let her enjoy her old age. Someone who will pick her up and take her to have a cup of coffee in our Brasserie or elsewhere. Take her for a drive, go to the trains with her or another fun outing. Her supervisors will be happy to tell you what else she enjoys. Escape the group crowd for a while and have time for Ali. Get to know each other better and understand that she is sometimes a bit tense and needs help to relax again. So a volunteer who can keep calm and does not shy away from negative behavior. The day, time and frequency are negotiable. Once a month is already of great added value. Will you take her with you in her old age?

Experience in the experience center

In our newly developed experience space, our clients can experience a train journey, Burgers Zoo and the Apenheul in an hour DESCRIPTION Do you also sometimes feel like you need to get away for a day? A day at Burgers Zoo or the Apenheul? For some clients of 's Heeren Loo this is not feasible. The journey takes too long and the crowds cause too much tension. In collaboration with Burgers Zoo and the Apenheul, innovation is working on a new experience centre in the middle of our residential care park. With a small group or individually, our clients and their supervisor or volunteer can experience the experience of the train journey, the animals in Burgers Zoo and the monkeys of the Apenheul in an hour........ A space in which all senses are stimulated. This plan is still in full development and together with the Apenheul and Burgers Zoo we are looking at how this will take shape. In order to open this experience centre to clients and their supervisors, volunteers are needed. Volunteers who want to be a host/hostess for a few hours a week in the future and want to offer the clients and supervisors this "journey". This can be during the week or in the weekend, during the day or in the evening. We like to involve the volunteers in the entire development process. Frits likes to be active, likes to make things and is up for a joke. This is much more fun with a buddy! Who is Frits? Frits is a 66-year-old man with a mild intellectual disability. He lives in a residential group in the Zuidbroek district, which is part of 's Heeren Loo. Here he receives 24-hour care. Frits is a cheerful and sociable man who likes to talk and has a lot of imagination. He likes to make jokes. He is independent in skills, communicatively comparable to someone of 8 years old and socially comparable to someone of 4 years old. He likes it when people talk to him directly, clearly and distinctly. He is safe in traffic, can walk well and can swim. He likes to be active; such as walking, cycling and he likes to work with his hands. He makes birdhouses or diamond painting. But he also really likes fishing, going out to a fair or playing a game. He has been retired since April 2024 and has time every day. What does Frits ask? Frits has been asking for a volunteer for a long time and is thinking of all sorts of things he would like to do together with a volunteer. He is looking for someone who has energy, is enterprising like him, is up for a joke, who would like to go out with him. For example, cycling, walking, outings, making things together, eating somewhere, having a nice chat. In short, a lot of things that you can make Frits happy with. Especially that someone comes especially for him! Gender and age do not matter, humor and being enterprising are more important. If you go on an outing with Frits, you discuss the budget with the supervisors in advance. The day and time are in consultation. Once a week would be very nice, but less is also possible.

Joris is looking for a buddy who will come especially for him Joris has a mild intellectual disability and is looking for a buddy who can do fun things with him; from an hour of coffee to a nice meal in a restaurant. Who is Joris? Joris is a sociable, spontaneous, friendly young man of 26 with a mild intellectual disability. He has recently moved into a new residential group at the residential care park of 's Heeren Loo. In order to expand his network in Apeldoorn and to be able to do fun things, he is looking for a volunteer/buddy. He already has a volunteer who he is very happy with, but he would like to have more fun contact. You can have a good conversation with Joris and he knows very well what he finds important and what he does not want. He is straight to the point and he likes that in others too. Clarity is very important to him. He is up for a joke. Joris is a real bon vivant and loves conviviality. He likes to go to a restaurant, to the Gamehal to play games, likes hip hop, a festival or concert, going to an amusement park, Ajax but he also likes just walking and chatting. As long as it's fun! At the moment he works during the day in the restaurant at Brownies and Downies, but the focus is on something else. He already has a volunteer from his old living group, but he would really like to have another volunteer so that he has someone to do something fun with or to chat with more often. What is Joris asking? Joris is looking for a buddy who comes especially for him. The time, day and frequency are negotiable. During the week, during the day he has day care. Someone who, like him, likes fun, has humor, is clear and sees similarities with his hobbies.
