Will you make us world famous in the Westland?

We would like to become famous in Westland and the surrounding area. For the Fame? No, to help as many children as possible! Vulnerable children, who are going to secondary school and could use some support. Will you join our communication team for this? What will you do? You can choose that yourself! We have various jobs and tasks on offer, from one-off to more structural. When we meet, you can indicate how much time you want to spend and how often; together we will then find out what is possible for you. • Are you a real hero on social media? We are not (yet) :S. So we offer you all the space in: o Managing social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) o Placing calls on social media o Using other communication channels to effectively convey our message • Do you like writing? And do you do that in flawless Dutch? Contribute to our newsletter! This is published approximately 3 times a year. o Writing articles o Final editing: thinking of catchy headlines, editing texts, checking for language and spelling o Interviewing our volunteers and the students we help • Do you want to sharpen your web editing skills? Our website has recently been refreshed, but it can always be better! o Editing and adjusting web pages (WordPress) o Posting news items o Making publications available online, such as our annual report • And then some other jobs: o Do you have a nice idea to make us better known? Something we haven't thought of yet? Let us know! o Every now and then we hold meetings for our volunteers. Will you make our volunteers enthusiastic to come, with nice invitations? o And we would also like to have photos of these meetings, for example for our newsletter. Are you going to take those photos? The meetings are on evenings from Monday to Thursday, and in the Westland. o Our older newsletters are on our website, but not so accessible. Because: if you see a link called ‘Info’, do you feel like opening it? Certainly not. But maybe you do feel like fishing out the gems from our older articles, and letting them shine as separate messages on our site! o Our fresh new website could use a good text check. Will you sink your teeth into this? o We regularly look for new volunteers. In our team of home mentors, but also for other functions. Will you write catchy texts for them? What do we offer you? • Meaningful work at a foundation that helps vulnerable children and thus contributes to equal opportunities. • Visible results of your contribution. • Gain experience with communication work in the non-profit sector. • Flexible volunteer work: from home and at times that suit you. • Of course you are welcome to attend our fun and educational meetings. Enthusiastic? Great! Respond with a message or contact me via [email address hidden] for more information. Greetings, General Coordinator Miriam

Do you want to contribute to the development of children? And would you like to do that by supporting our home mentors? School's cool Westland helps children who are going to the first year of secondary school and who could use some support. We have been doing that in Westland for about 12 years now. How? We connect these children to their own (volunteer) buddy: a home mentor. But... a home mentor cannot do without some help and guidance! That is why we have the Mentor Coordinators. And we are looking for a new mentor coordinator. You can start right away: the person you are going to replace left last December. Don't worry: we still have enough colleagues for you who will teach you the tricks of the 'trade'! What will you do as a Mentor Coordinator? - Conduct intake interviews with parents and students - Connect home mentor and child - Guide home mentors and families in a mentorship - Lead intervision meetings with home mentors What do we offer? - Interesting and useful work, you will be trained well and can develop yourself - Nice team of experienced mentor coordinators - A volunteer allowance - Flexible working hours NB: we hold meetings, consultations, etc. in the evening (Mon-Thu), at a location in the Westland. Count on approx. 10 evenings per year. Of course we take your agenda into account.

Do you, like the ANWB, think it is important that every child in the Netherlands has access to a bicycle? Then we could really use your help. Donate a bicycle or use your own network to collect bicycles. Organize a collection campaign at school, work, sports club or neighborhood association. Annoying? No not really! An action is in an instant. Why? Unfortunately, having their own bicycle is not a given for every child. Not all parents can afford a bicycle for their child. This forces children to stand still. Literal. Having a bicycle is necessary to participate. It expands a child's world in ways you can't imagine. Collecting is done in no time ✅ Participate? Will you help us take action by collecting menstrual products? In this challenge we will tell you how you can make such a big difference for girls and women in the Netherlands in just one hour! #deadlyserious #challenge

For example, you save on water use and greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. Last year, 1 in 8 Dutch people participated in this week! Do you already not eat meat? Or do you like an extra challenge? Then try not eating meat and dairy for a week. Eating a day without meat, fish and dairy more often is a small effort but has a huge positive impact on people, animals and the environment. Are you joining in?!

Take action at lightning speed when someone is in danger. That is the power of our emergency actions. If someone is in danger, you will receive a call by email. With the push of a button you support the action call. Send a message that you want to participate and we'll make sure you get the link to the registration form! Why are we doing this? Fast, simple and effective: thousands of people, all over the world, send a message to those in power when someone is tortured, threatened or unjustly imprisoned. So many calls are sent in such a short time that they cannot be ignored. That works. The more people participate in the emergency actions, the bigger our fist is against injustice. Did you know that plastic caps can be valuable? At least for us at KNGF Guide Dogs. We receive compensation for every kilogram of caps collected. So instead of throwing away the caps from soft drinks and milk cartons, why not hand them in at one of our collection points? By doing so, you're not only supporting the training of our guide dogs, but also helping to protect the environment. Together, all the caps collected have generated tens of thousands of euros. Here's how it works: Step 1: Send us a message expressing your interest in participating, and we'll provide you with all the necessary information. Step 2: Collect as many caps as possible! Step 3: Drop off the caps at a collection point near you. That's it! You've made a significant impact, benefiting both the guide dogs and the environment. It's a win-win situation! Thank you very much for your support, and good luck with your collection efforts! #challenge

Do you also think it is important that everyone can 'roll out the door'? Then help with this Wheelmap challenge, where you map out where that is possible (or not). 🦽 Why is this important Going to the toilet, a shop, restaurant, event or even just crossing the street... it is not obvious or even possible for everyone. If you literally roll through life, for example with a walker, stroller or wheelchair, you will encounter different types of thresholds. Those literal thresholds are a great shame: we can prevent them together. 📍What can you do The Wheelmap app maps which places are accessible, or not. This way, users of the app know where they can go and which (or how) to avoid. You can help by updating the Wheelmap app. That is super easy: take a walk and log what is not accessible. Super simple! click on 'I'm participating' so that we know that you want to take on the challenge. Then we will also send you the information on how it works. Good luck and thank you!
