The impact of a stroll
Going for a walk has positive effects on your health. It improves your memory, ensures that you sleep better and reduces stress. Exercise also reduces the risk of brain disorders such as dementia, depression and Parkinson's disease.
By taking a walk together with someone who cannot or does not want to walk alone, you also contribute to less loneliness. Loneliness also negatively affects your health. Walking together gives a feeling of togetherness. You literally help each other forward.
In short; with a walk together you help someone else and you work on your own health at the same time.
Conversation Tips & Icebreakers
Quite exciting, to just go for a walk with someone you don't know yet. What are you talking about then?
Fortunately, walking is the perfect way to get acquainted. Movement helps to have a good conversation. So that's fine.
Use these three questions as an icebreaker for inspiration:
- When was the last time you made a small gesture for someone else? What did that get you?
- What music makes you happy?
- If you were a superhero, what would you do or change?
Prick route for your detour
You can walk everywhere, but on this site you will find extra nice detour routes.
Choose a safe route that works for both of you. Our tip: look for some greenery for some extra oxygen. That makes the impact on your brain even greater!
Increase impact
