"It takes a village to raise a child," is a well-known saying. And nothing could be further from the truth. Unfortunately, upbringing kids knows many challenges. A Home-Start volunteer provides support to parents with up-growing children if anything is too much.

Make a real difference within a family with your parenting experience. Become a Hom-Start family buddy.

As a volunteer you are an important buddy for parents and their children. You offer a listening ear, friendly support and practical help.

You visit the family every week. Parents indicate for themselves what support tips they want. You think along with the parents. Together you look for solutions. By showing what goes well, self-confidence grows.

After a few months to a year of family support, the parents and their upgrowing children continue on their own.

- Requirements -
Are you looking for volunteer work for approximately 3 hours per week? Do you have experience with parenting? Do you want to give a helping hand to parents with children? Then Home-Start might be something for you!

- What does the organization have to offer? -
We offer courses, individual guidance, coaching and cooperation in a team of volunteers.

- What makes the work worthwhile? -
Working for Home-Start is enriching. You make contact with special people, other customs and cultures. You build a close bond with the young family. It satisfies you to give them strength and happiness and to support them.

- Working hours -
This volunteer job is a perfect job for parttime working parents. 1 part of the day per week, in consultation with the family.

- Procedure-
After registration follows an introductory meeting with the coordinator to see if Home-Start is what you are looking for. After that you can participate in the preparatory course.

As a Home-Start volunteer you are available for at least a year to support a family.

This activity can be performed in a coronaproof way. We adhere to the guidelines of the RIVM and you can get started safely. Your help is very much appreciated, especially now.
